All points above are valid, but my main point is that ebay is not the market value, becuase of all of the points raised above.
In regards to Marks collection, I was in the music industry for a while, managing bands, booking agent, recod label etc, but his example just raisedanother valid issue.
Signitures. Many lifetimes ago, to get a signiture was pretty rare, and hence, the value of them worth quite a bit. These days, all artists, and in other areas, like F1, toring cars and many other industries, the star players now do meet and greets, and also a lot of open singings, which has now, made collectin those signitures worth nothig becuase there is a lot out there now.
I used to do a lot of work with Chopper Read, Roger Rogerson and Jacko Jackson. After one tour they presented me with a 4 foot long axe, signed, andcased and resigned. Thats probably worth a bit.
