Response to I expect we will

Hi Calum,
While there is no denying that some of the present and future avionic "wizz-bangary" is most impressive in it's capabilities, you as an AvTech would know better than most that it would be foolish indeed to place absolute blind faith in this technology, (new iphone anyone???). As mentioned, I have seen up close the blood and guts of what happens when this technology fails on a current generation FBW hi-tech aircraft, that apparently doesn't need pilots, (and thank Christ they were there on that day!!!). In an event that, according to the manufacturer, SHOULD never have happened. Imagine then, just a few years into the future, the same or similar situation occuring to a heavily-armed next-gen UAV on a tactical strike mission that is now not responding to remote command/control, and there is no human driver onboard that can "think" their way out of it. Would you want to be under that UAV's flight path???
