Here is the prayer that is said at the opening of the movie:

When I whet my flashing sword, and my hand takes hold on judgement. I will take vengeance upon mine enemies, and I will repay those who haze me. Oh lord, raise me to thy right hand and count me among they saints.

"WHET" from dictionary.com: 1. To sharpen (a knife, for example); hone. 2. To make more keen; stimulate: The frying bacon whetted my appetite.

"HAZE" from dictionary.com: 1. To persecute or harass with meaningless, difficult, or humiliating tasks. 2. To harass or annoy by playing abusive or shameful tricks upon; to humiliate by practical jokes; --

The entire prayer is analogous to Deuteronomy 32:41 of the bible (Hebrew Scriptures): "when I whet my flashing sword, and my hand takes hold on judgment; I will take vengeance on my adversaries, and will repay those who hate me."
