I haven't seen them, but I've been trying to get ahold of them, so I'll have to get back to you on that.

Hmm... I can see what you're saying. But I have to disagree for the most part.

*Guy gets mad, Gets weapons, Starts killing ppl he doesent like.*

But look closer at that first one. Not all the people in those movies just "got mad"

(forgive me if I'm wrong on any of this, except for BDS, I've only seen all of these once)
In Man on Fire, the character was hired to protect the family, when he couldn't, he didn't "get mad" he swore vengeance.

Punisher is also basically tale of vengeance. Yes, he does go around killing people he thinks are bad, but he is on a mission to kill those who murdered his family and that other guy who I cant remember the name of.

Taxi Driver (I'm assuming this is the film you actually meant) is the one I've seen the most comparisons bewteen it and BDS made. The guy does set out to rid the streets of the low-lifes, but I've always thought of it as he goes a little crazy. Maybe that's just me though.

With Boondock, the boys never "get mad" or swear vengeance or any of that. The first kills came about because of them needing to protect eachother. Connor jumps off the roof because Ivan is pointing a gun at Murphy's head, and he has to protect his brother. After that, it's God that sends them on their mission. Some people don't get this until they see it a few times, but the scene in the cell with the water dripping is a way of symbolizing baptism. The Lord is literally sending them a message to kill the people who hurt, murder, rape, sell drugs, etc.

I think that, yes, you could say there are some similarities, but every movie has similarities to another. The only ones you can really say were original in every aspect are the first films that were ever made. Because after that, all films drew upon others. However, I also think that (at least between these films) the differences are big enough that, aside from the fact that good guys are killing bad guys, the films are very different.
