You dumb fuck, i just looked at the review you gave Boondocks and the problem you have is you didnt fucking watch the moive.
you said that as soon as the brothers leave the church they go and drink, if you had your eyes open you would have seen them walking around town, then going back to their place, the dont start drinking until later on in the night,
and the biggest thing that gets me is when you said they start killing the russians because they are buying up thier bar WHAT!!!!! They get a message from god in the police holding cell (remember thatn 20 min part?) that is why they go and kill the russians, after reading your review and then have to listen to that pathetic, "we need money so if you could only give us....
WHO WOULD FUCKING GIVE MONEY TO SOMEONE WHO MAKES A LIVING BEING A DUMBASS
i think from now on we shall have to start calling you by your potato name and leave the real movie critiqing to the professionals(which i am not one of)
next time before you open your mouth, actually watch the movie, and dont bother us anymore with your bull shit
fuck you can e-mail me and talk more about it if you would like
Buckmaster294@hotmail.com
I fucking dar you

*"the realization of Rocco; an errand boy for the Russian Mob (though he is Italian -- actually, I was constantly annoyed by the fact that the film was supposedly concerned with the Russian Mob, yet they all had Italian last names and Italian Mob-trappings. Complete laziness and ineptitude on the part of whoever wrote Saints... oh yeah, that asshole)."*
Russian mob? He was from the Italian mob, hence all the Italian last names. The movie was not 'concerned with the Russian Mob' it was concerned with the Mob in general. failure to see that is complete laziness & ineptitude on the part of whoever wrote that review. (Do you like your own words when they can be so easily applied to you?)
*"See, he did want to be involved in those massacres."*
Did you not watch the church scene where Smecker is in the confessional? He did want to be apart of the killing of these guys because he believes it's the best way to get them off the street since the law has miles & miles of red tap that these suckers can slip through.
*"through prayer I should point out"*
Ah, yea, 'cause that prayer was a family prayer, only their father would have known that prayer, & wow he's their father, no wonder he teamed up with them.
*"The head of the Russian Mob"*
It's Italian, how could you miss something so obvious?
*"the two victims at the first crime-scene DID NOT have pennies on their eyes; all the victims at future crimes scenes DO NOT have pennies on their eyes -- just this one particular crime scene. And, this makes sense to Dafoe's FBI-guy character because the Greeks and the Romans used to do it."*
The first two victims didn't have pennies over their eyes because it was the Russians who attacked them first, the brothers were not expecting the attack. future victims DO have pennies over their eyes, at the 'sick fucks' house you see Connor flip a coin in preparation to place it over a guys eyes, & you don't see the other victums properly to know for sure that they *didn't* have the pennies. The only victums that didn't have the pennies were the first two & the two that Rocco caps in the Deli. Maybe you should have watched it properly before commenting on it. & about the pennies, most people are smart enough to realise that pennies over the eyes of the dead is religious, & most people know why, just because you didn't doesn't mean everyone else is as uninformed as you.
The Boondock Saints was filmed for entertainment, nothing more, & a majority of the people who have seen it appreciate it for its value. Only a sad few feel the need to give a bullshit critique on it.

I made a complete analysis of this movie as a school assignment.
One part of it were the reviews of course and based on everything I've read on the internet (believe me, I almost read every post on the subject, it took me weeks) I agree with Joscail. There are definately a lot more people that do like this movie.
As about the original post in this thread, I also agree with Joscail and AJ. If you feel the urge to write a bad review, plz watch the movie properly first. I mean, come on, half of your review are mistakes ! You can't even get the plot right...
(It's also a fact that ppl don't like movies that they don't understand)

You will find a 85% disapproval rating. But of course you'll come back and say something like" but those are critics and critics don't know ahything." Whereas every film critics has watched far more movies than the avg. moviegoer and have a very good understanding of what makes a movie good. I'm sure it's a no-win situtation with you - but you just asked to be introduced to someone who didn't like and there11 out of 13 who didn't.

I don't have a problem with the fact that you don't like this movie, trust me. Everybody has the right to have it's own opinion on that.
What I do have a problem with is someone (Johnny in this case) giving a critique that's full of plot mistakes.
I mean, come on, before you write something and break the movie off completely, get it right first !

I thought rottentomatoes reviews of it were rather lopsided especially compared to such sites as imdb where it got almost solely positive reviews: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0144117/
I'll be the first to say it's not an extraordinarily original movie or artsy (hence the critics dislike of it) but it's a damn fun movie to watch. Besides has anyone else noticed how all the critics seem to dislike the violence? Personally I thought it was pretty tame.
