Sadly I couldn't make it down to Sydney last night, so I did the next best thing and booked to watch the satellite transmission at the Pacific Fair cinema on the Gold Coast.
I don't have a FaceBook account (by choice) so I can't post these comments there, and I'm not sure how many people still read this forum, but here goes anyway ....
A great concert! Loved every song! No complaints on that score!!
Great to see so many familiar faces in the crowd - especially Bill D. who was featured so prominently
Had a chuckle at the near-collision between Ian and Andy
The camera-work was good, with many interesting angles and close-ups
The sound and vision were so noticeably out of sync, it was like watching a badly dubbed movie
The volume in the cinema was way too low - it was quieter than the average film
The balance from the speakers was ridiculous - Don's piano drowned out Jimmy's singing
The unfortunate 10 minute break in transmission (a lightning strike?)
There were only 17 people in the audience!
I still have not been emailed a redemption code from Event Cinemas for the CD, despite having paid $42 for the package
It would have been cheaper (and quicker) for me to just buy the CD then turn up at the cinema on the night and pay $20 admission
Am I glad I went?
Could the experience have been better?
Yes! Far better! And still no CD.....
