Re: Ian Moss Touring New Zealand

Shouldn't it be the other way round? Am tempted to go but would like more information on how long Mossy's support act will be. Don't want to pay the money and only hear a few songs over half an hour.
Half an hour of Mossy is without a doubt way to short but Tony Joe White is an extrodinary singer, songwriter and guitarplayer in his own right. He's the guy who wrote Rainy night in Georgia, Steamy Windows, Polk Salad Annie and thousands of other great songs. You can't go wrong with him.
I wish they toured Europe together.
If there was ever any doubt - this was an amazing performance by a Cold Chisel Legend.
The show started with an unbelievable rendition of 'Cry Me A River'. Soon after I let Mossy know he had some old friends there by yelling out 'One Long Day'.
How's the saying go? A picture says 1,000 words - my mate was in the 'Moss is God' T Shirt.
Let's hope he returns to NZ for his own concert soon - or with a few mates.
Good to hear you had a great time. Did Ian played some new songs from his soon to be released album? How did they sound? Ian recorded it in New York with the great Danny Kortchmar at the knobs. I have no doubt it will be great
check his site for more info:http://www.mosstrooper.com.au/

that sounds suspiciously like "Harmony" who was thrown off the Ian Moss site for the same repeated rants getting up everyone's nose.
have to agree it would be great to see a band show again though
I had a look at Mossy's site today for the first time in ages. For a good read, take a look at his FAQ's. Awesome insight. Questions are posted and Ian answers them. Good stuff! Will be good to see him out and about soon with a new CD.

Hi Bert,
Yes, Ian played one song I believe will be released on his new album - Hummingbird. It's really good; you can hear it on YouTube.
And he didn't let us die-hards down either, by playing a number of Chisel classics also.
His performance concluded with an unforgettable rendition of 'Bow River'. Once again, this performance can be seen on YouTube. Such and amazing song, which so many Kiwis and Aussies can relate to.
We had a good chat to him after the show - I don't think you could meet a more down-to-earth, humble rock legend.
Hi Rob, the clips sounds awesome looks like you had a hell of an evening. I could only find the clips for My baby, Choir girl and Bow river. The Hummingbird clip I found is a couple of years old. It's a B.B. King song by the way.
Good you had the chance to talk to Ian. I have no doubt he is a great guy. A while ago I ordered his cd Let's all get together though his website and to my surprise I got it signed.
Here's one I did in Oct 2008 on the "Never Say Never Tour" Oct 2008. Ian's next album is going to be covers of "Soul" music. Should be good. There is also a Swanee/Al Barnes clip of "Evie" up there and Alan's new song "Kids Like It" that I filmed in March this year.
Peter Walker had two (2) of his guitars stolen on 13 May but I don't have the images from his email anymore to post them here unforuntately. ): but if you here or see anything he is offering a large reward for their return.
Oh and Harmony/Dauntless I mentioned to you numerous times on Ian's forum ASK HIM the reason why???????? They wern't sacked. KJ teaches Drum Tuition Full Time (yes just like a 'regular' teacher), Dave has his own band and Phil well dunno but they all seem cool about it. I love "band" shows too but it's obviously not viable when you have to fly in one from QLD, one from Adelaide, it comes down to 'cost' factor and the fact that musicians from time to time like to work with 'other' musicians to get new ideas/inspirations, it's not a bad thing it helps them grow musically. Email Ian via his website or sed him a message via his myspace page and ask him he's the ONLY person that can truly answer your question.

Ian Moss singing covers is a disapointment,
Don't go to See & hear an Australian Ian Moss to hear a bunch of American covers or to sing songs in any American way.
But to sign up with a company that believes they need no new songs & actually advertised it on their own website then its wordings disapeared what can you expect? How is it you have a few supports that were Bands a few people in them there must have been enough money for the supports to tour as bands & for you own shows not Bring the Band as a (HEADLINE ACT WHY WASN'T THE IAN MOSS BAND INCLUDED so why these other people & not the Ian Moss Band Included)
So if the Ian Moss Band wasn't sacked why are there no shows & Why were they not part of Ians tours.
(( Dave has his own band and Phil well dunno but they all seem cool about it))
(they say they all seem cool about it) (ARE THESE YOUR OWN WORDS)
Are you representing speaking for them are really shure about it.
Each may have a different opinion in reality?
& how often is Daves Band getting shows?
Why is this such a secret? Why wern't the band included?
so if the band weren't sacked why wern't they included in recordings, headline tour so why were the band sacked.
Ian Never responded to 2 emails on different subject & I didn't expect anything didn't get any emails anyway,
so I doubt he would respond.
Hey Clueless ( sorry I mean Dauntles) hang on.. it it clueless. Once again you have confirmed that the the gene pool definately has a shallow end, and apparently you are in it up to you ankles.
Here'a an idea.. why don't you FUCK OFF and perhaps try the wiggles fan club where who knows... perhaps you might make some freinds with some 5 year old kids that have the same IQ and inteligence as you.
No Harmony they are "not" my personal words nor do I represent them. Kerry is a personal friend of mine, and he's cool about it really. He advised that Phil and Dave were the same. As Ive said to you many time before on Ian's old forum that you really need to discuss this matter with Ian. There is no secrecy, no conspiracy, bands change, they evolve and sometimes they just want to work with different msicians to get a different vibe, feel or even to pair as songwriters.
Kerry is MORE than happy to work with Ian and has done so "one and off" since 1992. Ian is the only one that can answer your question but as I said I think it comes down to logistics (other menbers in other staes (Dave SA), Kerry (QLD) and the expense to fly them in for shows. They are STILL great mates and there is no problem.
If Ian didn't answer your email don't be surprised he's a big slack (by his own admission) on that, go to a show and ask him and he will give you the answer to the guestion you really want to know.
The last few tours of shows have been with Hamish Stewart and Jonathon ??? (sorry can't remember his last name), yes I agree with you as I did before it's not the same as electric band shows but perhaps Ian's on a different path at the moment and enjoying the raw and simplistic effect of acoustic shows.
Only he, can answer your question get your butt to a show and ask him, he's always available to fans after the show and will talk to you, so you've got the opportunity to find out for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!
because I don't know, I've never asked I doubt anyone hear has asked him either?
I understand you don't like it, but bitchin' and complain whether on the JB board or Ians' old board dones't solve the question ASK HIM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> then you'll know!!!

MCondom eat your words
Place is a forum, message board
or (didn't you know)so take your lack of intelligence
somwhere else, You had nothing to say on the subject
& you've got no control on who & whats said here so eat
your words dickhead put your rubber back on.
others can speak here.
& Susi-Q
I couldn't care whos mate you brag to be,
I don't believe you cause at a time of a conversation
I overheard a desire to continue playing so I don't believe this is true.
The Band weren't included in the Theater tour or recordings which a heap of other people were.
how were logistics here they could have been included.
Perth mostly Sydney ,Queensland other states got heaps of shows when they were working together
Melb missed out for 2 years on band shows &( why was that) you had the chance to go to many shows (which we got nothing)
so of course you have nothing to complain about & all Ian comes back when he does come back is nearly 2 hours of support bands,
& boring non muso singers & no band shows for us we missed out on heaps.
It's very simple Dauntles,
Ian has the right to choose who he want in "HIS" band if he wants to have a band,
If you don't like the band line up or the kind of shows he is doing then simply don't go.
yes dauntles - why are you getting so worked up about it?
move on with your life! bands change line-ups all the time. look at all the different bands Jimmy has had over the last 20 years. musicians come and go, join new bands, have other commitments, etc...
