Hi Guys
Dad & Dave isn't your usual Jimmy Barnes concert, so although I stopped dragging my husband along to JB concerts about 20 years ago, I got Big Bad Baz to come to this one with me.
David Campbell, even with his boyish geekiness, is an absolutely fantastic voice and entertainer!
Mahalia, glowing beautifully at 6 1/2 months pregnant, as we all know from previous Jimmy concerts, has the voice of an angel!
But the man we all went to see even made a gospel hymn sound good.
Only two 'traditional' Jimmy songs were sang, Still on Your Side and Four Walls.
It was very hard to sit down during these songs and behave yourself, reminiscent of Barossa Under the Stars last year, where you couldn't stand up if you were in the gold seating area.
JB talked quite a lot to the audience, which gave a nice insight to his family relationships.
He did drop one F bomb which was met with quite an unual stunned silence for a moment.
The show was quite short compared to Jimmy's usual performances, about 1 hour 15 mins, but they did come back for a short encore of Walk On and Love me Tender.
I liked it because a change is as good as a holiday and I'd go again but roll on August 15 at Thebby so I can stand up, let my hair down, scream out all the words to all the songs, and feel like I'm 18 again - and no, I wont be taking Big Bad Baz!
