Hard to say if it will be on DVD. They didn't film Norm Sweeney's Benefit (I did so have the whole lot) and hoping to do same for this one.

Updated line up as per press release 14 Jul 09

Jimmy Barnes, You Am I, Ian Moss, Rose Tattoo, The Screaming Jets, The Radiators, Mark Gable (Choirboys), Phil Small, Dave Tice and Mark Evans (ex AC/DC), Steve Prestwich, Chris Turner, Lucy DeSoto and Shauna Jensen plus a house super band featuring Randall Waller (Shania Twain Band - Guitar), Clayton Doley (Keyboards), Dario Bortolin (Bass), Paul DeMarco (Drums).

and if you cant make it but want to contribute happy.gif

Many people from around the world have been asking how they can be a part of the benefit concert for Mick Cocks. The Auditors of the Benefit Concert have set up a Trust Account for people to make a donation.

The account details are:

Bank: St George Bank
Bank Address: 4-16 Montgomery Street, Kogarah, NSW, Australia
Account Name: Moneypenny Business & Taxation Services Trust Account - 'One of the Boys - A Concert for Mick Cocks'
BSB: 112-879

If the video police don't stop me then all good. Last show I went to there (Enmore) Tatts/Jets/Angels security were not letting anyone film. When I told them I was Web Designer for the Jets they took me over to the crew to validate/verify I was and only then was I allowed to continue. This is an even bigger line up so will have to see how we go happy.gif

Well just use the Screaming Jets routine again and that should work! It's a shame I can never get Friday nights off, it will be a great night!

It was a fabulous concert for all the wrong reasons but WOW!

I didn't get there until 7.40 so I missed Dave Tice, Shauna Jensen, Chris Turner, Mark Evans. The first act I saw was Mark Gable doing Run to Paradise.

After that was The Screaming Jets they did three songs Better, Helping Hand and a cover song (which I don't know the name of) in Mick's honour. The crowd were going insane and rocking out big time.

Next followed Jimmy he did 4 songs and opened with Driving Wheels, No Second Prize ? (Can't remember the third song, sorry) and finished with Working Class Man.

After Jimmy had performed his 4 songs Ian came on and they sang Bow River together you can see a copy of that here.

Jimmy then left the stage and Ian did an acoustic version of "Georgia"

Jimmy returned to the stage to do When The War is Over you can see that here

don't know how these people got their clips those above 2 links are NOT mine but at least you can all see what it was like

I was right in the front at the barrier (the barrier was to separate us and the press that were there photographing, no professional videography that I can recall seeing), where stupidly I could be seen and got 3/4 way through filming "Driving Wheels" when told exactly what I thought would happen (as it always does at this venue and ONLY this venue) "no videoing" by the security guard. Yet never mind everyone else is doing the same thing on their mobile phones well DUH. My mobile doesn't do that great a quality for video so I didn't bother.

The clip I did manage to get of JB I'm uploading to You Tube now so will post a link to that later.

Had I filmed it from the back of the room which I found out much much later in the evening I could have had the whole show on film as there was no security keeping an eye out for videoing.

After Ian's set we had You Am I can't recall what they sang but there were about 4 songs by them as well.

Finishing off the night was Mick's band Rose Tattoo they performed "Rock n Roll Is King", "We Can't Be Beaten/Bad Boy For Love (Medley) and for the final song Mick Cocks joined them on stage to play "One Of The Boys". The latter three songs I filmed and they are being uploaded as I type this.

I was surprised that all musicians didn't come back on stage for a grand finale otherwise great show happy.gif

A truly great show, with a lot of money raised for Mick, especially at the auctions. It's a shame the guy doing the auctioneering couldn't see or hear the crowd better, especially those in the balcony, as there were bids he missed - HUGE bids, thousands of dollars.

I recall Jimmy's 4 songs as Driving Wheels, No Second Prize, Lay Down Your Guns, and You Got Nothin' I Want (not Working Class Man). Is my memory playing tricks?

It was great to see Mossy, Jimmy and Phil together. It's a pity Steve didn't show, and we knew in advance that Don wouldn't be there - although I didn't know that when I bought tickets. I wonder what the real reason was for Don and Steve backing out???

When the War Is Over was awesome, it brought back so many memories of Ringside. Probably the highlight of the night for me.

Best of luck, Mick. And thanks to the Enmore. It was also great that so many of the artists mingled with the crowd during others' performances. An aweome night.

Re: awesome

Jets were awesome, their last song was a great cover of the ac/dc Aint no fun, dedicated to Bon Scott

Jimmy so so powerful as usual cant wait till the next enmore gigs, always love mossy with him (of course)

Kevin Borich was a surprise performance & brought back plenty of memories of the old Bondi Lifesaver days

Tatts with Mick actually finished with Nice Boys, after One of the boys, what a wall of guitars with Rob Riley as his fill in so in your face, great stuff. Mick was just at the back of where everyone was performing all night taking it in, he looked quite emotional when finished & couldnt talk to the crowd, as tough as angry is, he broke down a few times in the last two songs. Is sad to see such a great band losing so many members, they seem to have stayed so tight. Got to say that I have been lucky enough to have seen all the benefit gigs for pete Wells, lobby loyde, Ian Rilen & now Mick. God Bless Mick & thanks for such great memories, even that countdown clip of rock & roll outlaw is "history"

Bloody enjoyable night

July 28 2009, 11:44 AM

The Mick Cocks gig was one of the most enjoyable nights out I've had in a long time.

Me and the better half flew up from Melbourne late Friday and got to the gig about half an hour before the show started.

Everyone has pretty much covered things about the show pretty well in the earlier posts of the last few days.

It was just great to see so much loud, hard rock and roll being consistently played throughout the night.

The best bit was the great goodwill that existed on the night. Everyone was there for Mick Cocks - whether they were performing on stage or in the crowd.

It was a pleasure to be there.

Rock and Roll is King!

A few other songs from earlier...

July 28 2009, 5:38 PM

Yeah the Rads were really good. They've certainly lost nothing over the years.

The other songs that were played earlier included a version of Who Do You Love by Tice and Evans. They were also joined by Lucy DeSoto and together they did a great version of the Pete Wells (Tatts) classic Between The Saddle and The Ground.

The house band also did a song on their own which was Rod Stewart's Hot Legs.

And it was great to see that super spunk from the '80s Annalise Morrow (from the Numbers and Maybe Dolls) get up and do a number.

Dee DeMarco (Paul's wife) was very impressive too - what a powerful voice! First time I've heard her, hope it won't be the last.
