I just read on Undercover Music News the following:

Skyhooks played in Sydney tonight with Jimmy Barnes and Diesel taking the place of the late Shirley Strachan.

The performance was for a good cause to honour Michael Gudinski at the Helpmann Awards.


Don't suppose anyone has anymore details of tracks or u-tube footage. Would love to be able to see this performance!

Gees, be great if footage can be gotten hold of, I have long believed (wished) Jimbo would have a crack at that .(Even when it first came out ) Bit like the song Rain, ya just knew , wow, would be great if Jim could even give it some more grunt
Trouble is the original versions never sound the same (to me anyway).
Every time I hear Simply the best on the radio, I get a little annoyed when I work out its just the original ha ha .. Lets hope the W.I.U footage sees the light of day soon , or at worst , becomes an extra bonus on the next DVD ..

As for Micheal Gudinski, what a legend, and cant imagine, how the music world in OZ, woulda been without him and how exceptional he has been for Jimmy..

i have always wanted to hear jimmy sing women in uniform i really hope someone out there has footage.

did anyone just happen to copy the awards and if so could i get a copy as i missed them
