Hi Jimmy, both myself and my husband, Malcolm are huge fans of yours. Malcolm had a massive stroke back in September 2005 as a result of a workplace accident, he was only 39 years old. The stroke has left Malcolm with right side paralysis, a severe speech impediment, epilepsy and several other medical conditions. I am bringing Malcolm down to Ballarat for your concert on Thursday 13/8/09, we are coming from Melbourne. This will be the first concert he has been to since having the stroke. Malcolm would love to hear you sing "Four Walls" or "The Last Frontier". Having seen you at "The Palais" on the 31/7/09 I know they were not part of your set list. I know its a big ask but it would mean so much to him. Anyway,we are both really looking forward to the show. See you there!!

Was great to hear Jimmy on stage refer to Malcolm and Karen , ( requests are not always done, or mentioned ,too many), but he told us, as they were not rehearsed, couldnt be done .. but dedicated another song anyway .
I did notice more disabled people than usual, which is brilliant, my missus would go, but need half strength ear muffs as well , which would be embarrassing.
The seating idea is certainly gaining momentum and beneficial in many ways ..

I overheard a guy say it took Barnesy a long time to get them up near the front.
But at the last few gigs, the front rowers , were hassled , for standing up , I heard them say after the gig , out of respect for those behind, unless it was obvious everybody was up, they would wait .. Well until the last 4 or 5 songs .. It may be weird , but I personally am enjoying the change..Would never have thought it would happen tho, at a Jimmy gig , and does still seem awkward
While Im on this rant , its amazing Jimmy still, himself performs so hard, flat out , massive intensity, bellowing as if its the last song he'll ever sing ,
and its to a room full of seated people !! .it just dont seem right ha ha

This band was great, Dave Lane is still a bonus , and Bens fits in like a hand in a glove .
Support act The Pictures were very good, I hadnt realized Davey had such a great voice.

One thing I have noticed, Jackie now seems to have a drum set, he is finally growing into , almost ¾ size of Tony Brocks old monster , and I think I heard a lot Brockys old skin sounds too. Absolutely loved it .. Wonder how long it might be that Jackie is a bit hard for Dad to track down , after he's been chased and signed up to a super group .
He is class act now.

Cheers Rob
