Hi all!

My daughter and I had the absolute pleasure of going to both of Jimmy's gigs last weekend in Sydney. Both gigs were absolutely amazing, but i think Saturday night just tipped it out as better, helped by the fact Mossy and DC were special guests. The security seriously needed a bullet though lol . We were made to sit all night, if you even stood up to dance you were told to sit or go over to the side to dance. I sat in the aisle a few times to get some pics and vids lol just to be able to see. On Friday night we all behaved and sat like good little children til Lay down your guns came on and then we all got up, and security kept coming through and making us sit again. God love Wombie she just kept getting us all to stand back up once security turned their back and they gave up. Thanks for that Wombie xx. We moved up a little closer and all seemed good until the interval and again we were all threatened to sit down or be thrown out. Jeez how can you sit at a Jimmy gig?? Everyone was getting angry because of not being able to enjoy the gig and finally after Mick had to come and have a word in their ear they backed off and we were all allowed to get up. After that the night was amazing. We caught up with Jackie, Mahalia, Ben and Jimmy after the gig for a quick chat which was awesome.
I had to drive all the way back home to Newcastle after the gig so I got 1 &1/2 hours sleep before going to work for 9 hours before driving back down for Saturday night's gig. I was hoping that after the debacle with security on friday night that they would be more relaxed on Saturday night, but it was the opposite, they were worse. I was in the second row for Saturday night so had a really good view, but at the same time it was harder to stay still lol Again we weren't even allowed to stand, but again we all tried haha! The security relented a little bit as the night went on and let people stand in the aisle as long as they went no where past the front row, that was until Jimmy got a little bit upset with them restricting everyone so much and again we were allowed to get up near the stage. We got up near the stage just in time for DC's arrival woohoo!!! Dave and Jimmy sung Good Times together which was amazing, awesome choice everything!!! Oops I nearly forgt Mossy, sorry. Mossy came out on Saturday night as well and sung When the War is Over, and Merry Go Round. It was F**king amazing!!! I have videos of both songs still uploading and I will add them as soon as they are up.
Jackie god love him got my Chisel poster and record signed by both Jimmy and Mossy thanks heaps mate! And just to make my daughter's night he gave her a personally signed drumstick, I thought she was going to faint lol . We met up with Jimmy and DC for a quick chat and photo before they took off home which ended the night just perfectly.

Thanks again Jimmy, Mahalia, Ben, Jackie, David, Elly may, Mossy, Davey, Mark and Shauna for 2 amazing nights of the best music in the world!!!

Sitting down at a Jimmy gig just feels wrong.
How old is your daughter and at what age did you start taking her with you?
I'm a bit nervous about taking my oldest so I haven't yet.

When we had the show at the Palais in St, Kilda they tried to make us sit for awhile but after the first set and on certain songs everyone just stood up and when I looked back behind us the whole crowd was standing, so there was not stopping anyone there. I did see a security guy tell a woman to sit down or put her camera away, and why she was the only one chosen no one knows, because we were all snapping pics all night.

They usually try to keep the first few front rows down so that those at the back can see if they don't stand up, but as you said at a Jimmy concert there are some songs that just get you roused up and you have to stand and sing that's what you do at Jimmy's concerts. We sat for awhile but not long, and security seemed to be ok with that. Thank goodness otherwise I wouldn't enjoy it as much. I know its a theatre show, but during the acoustic numbers you can sit, but when Jimmy revs it up............well you just let loose!!

Hope they are a bit better in Adelaide and allow some freedom.
