Ok, so I've just read the news (see link below) and almost had a mini stroke. Talk about combining the two loves of my life - i.e. JB's music and my Sainters!
I could die a very happy woman if the Saints were to play (and win!) in the Grand Final.

GEEEZ don't i wish i was a member now!!! things i would do for tickets to that game (well almost anything)
I'm with you Vanessa,except it's Jimmy & Collingwood!! what a day.
we are playing his team this sat night, so my fingers are crossed that we come home with a win, sorry Jim.
Hi
Buggar, I will be at the Grand Final Footy Show. Oh well, can watch it. If they want Jimmy to sing the national anthem it will be Khe Sanh or Working Class man, forget about Advance Australia Fair.
Bye Sharon
In the spirit of football finals, I thought I would add the You Tube link to
Tina Turner and Jimmy Barnes singing Simply The Best for the Winfield Cup in 1993.

From the "live" performances i've seen at football games, usually the sound quality is fairly poor. It's not a poor refection on the band or singer, but just crook P.A. i think. I do remember seeing Jim doing Working Class Man around 10 or 15 years ago at a Rugby League (greatest game of all!!) Grand Final. He changed the words around in the middle as i'd seen a few times at some of his shows. Where he'd sing "Well he loves a little woman" etc, he went on to sing "But you best not tell his wife, she's gonna cut his balls off with a six inch carving knife". The best part was watching the all female backing singers standing next to him.

hey Jim here is the pic we were talking about last night.
if collingwood do win the grand final Mark & I are getting tatts to celebrate, i might use this pic as my tattoo!! just joking I'll stick with the club emblem.
Thanks again for another brilliant night
My therapist is on speed dial just incase I see that photo of Jimmy - it pains me every time! hahahah
My friend Gary and I are also planning on getting tats if the Sainters win. Who knows, at this stage, it could be any team but I'm hoping after a 40 year drought, the Saints can do it.
Was great seeing you (briefly) at the Palais on Friday night. No doubt, Ill see you at the next gig.
sorry about your discomfort Vanessa!!
I even took Jimmy to the game with me on Saturday night,
well on my t-shirt anyway, hope this pic is less traumatic for you.
see ya at the Stampford????
have a great time at the stamford - most of my school friends will be there with you no doubt! victoria always had the best live acts - altho qld fans are putting a smile on jbs face - he seems to appreciate the devotees - and the crowds just keep getting bigger. it's the children of the 60s/70s (67 myself) generation - and now the grandparents are tapping their feet to 'the Rhythm and the Blues' as well as teaching the young grand kids the dance steps they did when they met and danced together to these songs. Now that's how to bring a family together:)
Take away the Collingwood scarf and badges and you've got yourself a rockin' t-shirt Clare! haha
I'm still considering going to the Stamford. It's pretty much around the corner from where I live. I'm not sure who else (if anyone) is going. If you tell me you'll be there then I'll be sure to get myself a ticket.
At least I'll be able to walk myself home after a few drinks...
