What is this we hear about a Cold Chisel reunion in December?
A little birdy tells Undercover that Cold Chisel may be getting ready for a one-off show for the V8 Supercars event in Sydney on December 5.
The last time Cold Chisel played was in February 2005 at the Melbourne Tsunami Benefit Concert. Prior to that, they toured Australia on the Ringside tour in 2003.
The last Chisel album was The Last Wave Of Summer in 1998.
Cold Chisel is one of the few Aussie bands still with all its original parts. Jimmy Barnes, Don Walker, Ian Moss, Steve Prestwich and Phil Small played on every album from the first to the last.
The V8 Supercars Championship Series will be held between December 4 and 6 at Homebush in Sydney
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE! I will be working this event and hopefully doing front of stage (whoever plays). I could retire a happy rocker! And here I was thinking the 3 ACDC gigs would be my career highlight!
yeah this is all over the v8 central Forum as well
ive been a member of the forum tehre for years now
im still waiting for comfirmation about this
Hopefully tony cochrane (v8 boss) will anounce something this weekend at Philip Island.
Mark Skaife did say he and the V8 board had a Suprise musical act for the Sydney 400
hmmmm in alot of interviews for Rhythem and the blues album lately people have asked barnes what about getting back with Chisel and he has said there all still mates and it would be great fun

SATURDAY DECEMBER 5 I will be working!!!!!! I am about to wet my pants, it is official COLD CHISEL + LIVING END + GRINSPOON DECEMBER 5~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whoooooo hooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a way to end the day! Pure Excitement!
So do we have to buy tickets to the daily event of V8 supercars on the Saturday to get tickets for Chisel on that night? They said through ticketek and have looked but no add specifically for Chisel just the V8 supercars? Puzzled and I want to go and I have to find a way to get a ticket!!!
I've had a read through the V8 website and it's my understanding that you can go to the concert if you have the day pass. Does this sound right with everyone else?

In an announcement that millions of Australian music fans have been waiting for, Today Tonight can exclusively reveal that Cold Chisel is to reunite.
It is 16 years since they first broke up and four years since they last performed as a group but Cold Chisel has finally found the right time and the right stage to do it all again.

On Saturday December 5, Cold Chisel will be the headline act at ANZ Stadium as part of the final round of the V8 Supercars at Sydney's Olympic Park.
"We get offered lots of things, we've been offered lots of things over the years, this happened to be great timing, an incredible event," they said.
Aussie rockers Jimmy Barnes and Ian Moss will reunite with Don Walker, Phil Small and Steve Prestwich for the iconic event.
Over the years they have been offered a lot of money to regroup over a lot of times.
"We get offered millions regularly," Moss said.
"We got to the point where although it's great to make a pile of money it's got to be right."
The band wanted the event to be the big thing of summer.
"We wanted it to be really special in Sydney, we want to showcase Sydney and showcase how great an event the V8 Supercars can deliver at Olympic park," they said.
Tony Cochrane is the boss of V8 Supercars Australia and one of our most successful promoters.
He was the man who got Frank Sinatra back to Australia for the opening of Sanctuary Cove in 1987 and kept asking Chisel to come together.
"I always say in life provided the very, very last question is a yes, you're OK," he said.
The band formed in 1973 and hit the road hard for a decade. Famous for hits such as Flame Trees, Khe Sahn, the group split up in 1983 and have only been back together three times since.
They have gone on to sell five million albums.
"There's the thing that your best work is always in front of you," Moss said.
"With these guys being on stage with a lot of people, it's pretty hard to find the chemistry and excitement that happens.
"There's a chemistry and excitement that happens invariably every time."
The group's songwriter and keyboardist Don Walker said his family is happy with the reunion.
"They're pretty excited, their kids can bring their friends," he said.
The band will have to rehearse fairly well beforehand and joked that an autocue is not required.
"The only time I've ever forgotten Khe Sahn was on the Last Stand and I pretended I was letting the audience sing it, read their lips and I was okay," Barnes said.

Jumping all over the place at the moment. Just about to buy my ticket and plane ticket, any word on who is playing Friday?. Not that it really matters cos I am already committed to Green Day on Friday night
i guess we need to get some requests in......one long day and letter to alan would be good to hear again...gotta be some small warm up shows as well....what a week england qualify for the world cup, england still have the ashes, new barnsey cd( the backing band just rock on this) and a chisel show to look forward too!
To all that may have read my early email on Fleetwood Mac playing Friday night, I apologise for the wrong info and also apologise for my dumb arse little birdy that gave me the info as he was only half right.
He told me over a week ago about Cold Chisel doing Friday night as he is in the industry and knows the guys doing the logistics for them and I put 2+2 together as we are going to Kinross and that was postponed with no reason, so that was a sure thing. The hardest part was to keep quiet about it, as I wasn't gunna miss out on tickets by shooting my mouth off early.
Talking to him about his blunder on Fleetwood Mac he still says his info is right, but I think he may be suffering from substance abuse and getting confused with their Monday night gig.
To everyone that got their hopes up, SORRY, but I am man enough to stick my hand up and say I was wrong.
See you all at the vvrooooms vvrooooms in December. 3 days of racing and 2 night of rocking, I hope the boss doesn't expect me to front for work on the Monday.

Hey guys,
great great news!!!!
im in brazil now but will be coming home soon..
is there any chance this event will sell out soon (or ever?)
Regards
Lorry
I am hoping to come out on the 2nd December and go back on the 8th December which will give me enough time to see my favourite live band of all time...if I can get the time off work that is...
Most people at my work think i am off my head to do this in only a week....
Anybody else in the uk thinking of doing the same!!!!!
Yes dave, go for it iam doing a five day trip but the planes have good films these days, stuff what your mates say its 25 years since chisel played these shores so you have to travel to see them,Barnseys band do a great job on chisel songs(apart from the odd UK butchery to Khe Sahn over the years) but you need mossy, phil, steve and don for the real mcoy and that classic chisel sound.

Definitely do-able, Dave!

1. Got my V8 Supercars Saturday ticket as soon as the gig was on the news, but for this I only need to travel 1 hour from the Central Coast to Homebush to see Chisel for the 19th time (and Jimmy for ... who knows?)
2. Did the opposite in 2007 to see Led Zeppelin in London (in fact the only time I've ever been to th UK / Europe). Flew out Sunday night, gig at O2 Arena Monday night (GMT), left Heathrow Wednesday morning, back to Sydney Thursday night. So well worth it!
Hi
Well what a win this is for me and Dwayne. As he enjoys car racing. He used to go away with a race team and work on the car. So it didn't take much to talk him into going to Sydney. So he gets to see the car racing and I get to see Cold Chisel. Cant wait. I think all of us from Melbourne will fill one plane on our own. Just hope it wont be too crowded for me at the front if I can get to the front. So Juddster you might have to look out for me.
Bye Sharon
Some arrangements can usually be made Sharon. Closer to the gig leave a message on here and we will swap mobile numbers, I can call you from our briefing IF the bosses have a spot for ya! But if you are in the mosh-pit its every man for themselves! I WILL however slam anyone that hassles you if I am near ya!
