We've tried the turtle fishing thing

but it didn't work. We have so many painted turtles that they always cleaned off the chicken before a snapper got it. I wish it would work. I believe it did for that really fun guy in Michigan - why can't I think of his name right now? Oh, Hondo! But no luck for us. Robert's latest try was to use a duck foot (from one of the ducks he killed last season) as bait, thinking the turtles keep biting ducks' feet so why not use that as bait. No luck.

Jan, we've actually caught several snakes in garden netting. It was just wadded up around the nest or under a pallet where they had a nest and the snake got caught in it and died. Strange but true.
