just bought a car on e-bay....it is in Houston so not too far to travel. LOL

Tony wrecked his Saturn saturday. The adjusters just came out today and said (what i already knew) that it was totalled. I looked it up on the blue book and the low is 3100 and the high is 4500 so i will nigotiate with them for about the middle of the road.

Any way i went to e-bay cars this afternoon and found an Eclips (the dream car Tony wants) and the bidding for it was over at 11 pm today. It is a 99 and really clean, only 99000 miles on it. We are going to go look at it tomorrow and pay a down to hold it till the saturn check comes in. We got it for 4600.00 And I checked the BB and the low on it would be 4200 and the high is 6500 so not too bad a price.

So wish us luck... this is the 2nd thing i have bought off e-bay... i am getting use to this LOL love shopping from home.

it's about time you...................

figured out that ebay is so much fun.  The biggest thing that we sold on there is a lawn mower that I had bought at an auction nearby.  I paid $350 for it and sold it for $1800!  I even used it for 2 years first!  The guy that bought it lives up around Milwauke and drove the hour or so and picked it up on a flatbed truck.  Get this, the mower had a 7 foot cut to it and he had a half an acre property.  He drove it around our yard first and got so excited about it he was planning on mowing for all of his neighbors!

Then we sold the blade sharpener for a reel mower.  The thing was all steel.  Heavier than heck.  Told the winner that shipping was his problem unless he wanted to wait a couple of week and we would drive it out for 50 cents a mile.  He did some looking around and decided that we would be his best bet.  So, we got paid to drive out to New York, dropped the machine off in some unbelievable countryside and then took the kids to Niagra Falls.  I would have to say, ebay has been really good to us.  By the way, it gets addicting!

to be surfing ebay for deals. If i need something then (like I do sith shopping) I will go to look for that particular item... i am not a window shopper and hate shopping with a pasion... If I need something i go to the store that has it and buy it and get the heck out...

going to get the car this morning. A friend (NOT ROY) lent me the money till the insurance company check comes in. Load off my mind as Tony starts back to school Monday.

I was an avid eBayer

June 4 2005, 10:30 AM

a few years back. Added a lot to my collection of eggs and antiquities. Now where else could you find dinosaur poop? Yup. Several "piles" of it are sitting on my china closet shelf and Brook, KD and Chick Mom can vouch for that!

Jan in the jungles of NE Texas. Home to geese (emdens and Canadas), ducks (calls, mallards, runners, Penkins, rouens, muscovies, ringed teal, Mandarins), emus, pheasants (silvers, red goldens, ringnecks, Amhersts, peafowl, doves (ringneck, white, diamond), button quail, 2 Great Pryenese guard dogs, parakeets, a cocatiel, turkeys (Rio Grande, royal palm, blue slate) and about a dozen or so breeds of chickens, both bantam and lg. fowl.

here is the link to the pics of the car that was on EBay.

We picked up the car today from Houston and it is a good little car for the money. too rich for my pocket book but the insurance will cover most of it. i hope. still have not heard from them. A very good friend sent me the money yesterday. thank God for friends. now I have time to haggle with the insurance company as I am sure their first offer is going to be rediculasly LOW.... LOL and we will meet some where in the middle. have to get him back out here to see the sound system. It does not work and is not more than 8 months old. Speekers, amph and cd player/radio. paid 800 for it last fall. it is warrented for 1 year and I am hoping that they will install it into the new car at a reasonable price. We don't know if the system works because the impact was enough to pull all the wires out of the speekers and amp....so...

But tony is in love.... the eclipse is the car of his dreams and all he has talked about for 4 years.

Well, good for Tony

Glad he got his dream car. That means so much to a kid. My first (and only) dream car was a '54 Ford that would go like a bat out of _ell. It was gorgeous--black and white 2 door hardtop, black and white vinyl interior, dual Hollywoods, overdrive, etc. No sneaking in past curfew with those wheels. http://network54.com/Realm/Water_Fowl_Meeting_Place/smileylayingdown

I drove it all through college and when I got married, my sister got it. When she left home, dad sold it. Sure wish I could get my ands on one like it today. I'm a sucker for '50's and '60's cars.

to the bidder and the recipient.  It's a wonder Tony hasn't got it in the house with him!  Jan reminded me that my first car was a Mercury Comet.  It was a new model just being introduced and was frought with problems.  However, it got me around on my first job...lots of field work as a Social Worker and then was passed on to my Mom who put more miles on it. Vic inherited it and used it for work.. finally did it in with all the canyon driving to the coast highway...I know not where it was finally buried.

Thanks guys for the great posts. reminds me of my first

car too. But it was from my dad for 100.00 and I had to get insurance on my own. It was a Ford Falcon and went to the east coast and back a couple of times. Finally gave it to my Brother in Simi Valley in 1972.

I had to wait till I could afford my dream car on my own. It was a 67 pontiac Firebird, Convertable 4 on the floor and marrone in color. Loved that car. finally sold it to a firebird collector who was going to restore it.
Have had a ton of cars from Morris Minor & Anglia in Australia to cadilack in US.

Now i am just glad to get a car or truck that runs good. Right now my car is a 76 Nova....that will get me to town and back.
