I finally confirmed my booking today after many an obstacle barred my way!
As not to sound too much like Ron.......
I spent 1 hour on the phone last Fri (after wondering why the specials didn't happen during online booking) trying to book the flights to DC. The girl told me the specials are only available over the phone, and only available certain days, on certain flights. My first three combination of dates were rejected outright, and finally we settled on some dates and times.
Rung AirNZ this morning from work to pay with my credit card, at 7:40am, allowing 20min before starting work. Still talking to the dizzy blonde 30 min later as she struggled with the concept of credit cards. She couldn't find the price, asked my numbers 4 times ("they disappeared off the screen"), then allocated exit seats.
The fax arrived (what happened to email?) and I realised the exit seats were numbered 25E, 10E, 15E, 35E. I rung her back and suggested that E did not mean exit!!! "But I asked someone...." I reminded her that E meant 5 seats away from the window and I was rewarded with a loud sigh and a complaining voice that now she would have to ask her superviser. Just do it!!!!
Another fax arrived and the dates and times were all different to what I had booked last week! Rung her again........"Oh, it's out of our hands. A scheduling change". I thanked her for the flight to LA which arrived at 1:45pm, just in time to catch the 1:50pm flight to Washington. She asked me to hold and I said "NO, you can fax me the new itinary when you get it sorted!!"
When I asked for email confirmation, she advised me that this was a paper transaction, and the tickets will arrive in a week (did they confiscate her computer?)
