I know the reality....I just DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT your cooking habits when it comes to those ducks!! Not on the fowl board!! Take it to the cooking channel if ya have a legitimate recipe...but I get sad when you tell me what you do behind the scenes over there in NM with your "extra" birds....You're supposed to LIE to me about that stuff...sigh...I begged you to find a home for them, dear!!

To me that says I have butcherd before and may do so again.I never bragged or Said I did , you took it that way.But I will not mention butchering on the waterfowl board as you requested.But I will On the cooking channel if the need should arise.
As for my extra drakes, I do not feel i should hide or lie about it.I do have too many for the 5 hens.I kept more than I should. Too many Drakes will cause suffering to the hens and will fight with each other.The extras will most likly go to the freezer.Muscovy drakes are not on the market as a best saler .And those interested wanted a pair.I said no way i want my 5 hens.
Butcherig is not an easy thing Frizz and I both talked about this 2 days ago.Pets,And meat birds are 2 diffrent things.I would much rather see birds butcherd than kept in tiny pens or dumped.Frizz and I are the only ones that butcher on the board and now that she doesnt show most times its just me.So im alone LOL But I do not enjoy it but i will not say i dont Butcher eather.I would rather eat what I raise than get from the store not knowing what is in it.Sorry to upset you but you did ask and I replied truthfuly .Muscovy Chef

is another on the board that has in the past delt with birds as food.. So Ron you are not alone...

There are pets and there are breeders and food sources in all kinds of animals...Much better to use the extra birds as a food source than to dump them on a pond or park to become a dog or others food source...I am not saying i could use even a worthless chicken as a food source but I guess if I had some one else do the deed, some where far away from my house and me...That would be the only way...

I blame the hatcheries for the need to cull so badly...They send you a bunch of ducks knowing full well that there are too many males...I read an article the other week about the chicken raisers and they cull the males the minute they are born...and it is not as humanily done as we would do it...

Not saying it is right but if the breeders of ducks would cull at birth the excess males it would not fall on the customer to cull or try to find homes for the excess males. Much easier to do when they are minutes old ...

Ok, I said my piece...sorry to butt in....because we have domesticated some animals mother nature has a hard time culling them as she does her wild ones...Take Brooks multi broods of babies this year...Out of appx 24 babies they have been culled by mother nature back to what nature can handle...Sometimes we have to do Mother Natures work for her...
