The below referenced Marine Corps Order would
seem to preclude the issuance
of honorary enlisted promotions--yet recent
articles have indicated such for
SSgt Ermey and Gomer Pyle.
Am I misunderstanding this order, or is it
outdated, etc.?
Please advise.
