Our USMC: Naval Terminology and Roots!

Seems to me that there is a growing tendency for the Marine Corps to not only drift away from the use of naval terminology in the ranks, but the Marine Corps itself imight be seen to be well on its way to becoming that second land army that Secretary of the Navy Forrestal warned about way bak in the 1940s.
