Today I carved a bear with a back pack of sorts . I left a part of the log above the bears head cut like a plank about two inchs thick and cut it off just below the bum then I slab another peice bored out a 2x3 hole and made a joint fit the bottom plank into the back plank . I hope your following so far . I drilled 9/16 holes in the bootom plank and the back plank also one in either paw . to run a peice of rope thru to give it the look of a back . You can put kindeling on the bottom peice or as flower pot . what ever . I also carved a bear for a small row boat I bought the bear is sitting inside the boat. I cut to grooves in the paws for the oar to fit in and a base that looks like waves . I did this inbetween going to the vets getting goat feed and picking up blasting sand and materials and dealing with customers , I sold my moma bear with the cub in her arms and racoon climbing a tree and a screaming eagle from driftwood I love carving on drift wood . I close on my house oct, 31 we set the date today
