Well, we are back home again. All in all, I guess one could say we had a pretty good week.
I'll give a step by step.
We got to Orangeburg Saturday afternoon, dropped the trailer and found a Motel in a nearby town.
We went back to the Fair grounds about noon Sunday and started the set up, we were nearly finished putting up the canopy when Lynn's cell phone rang.
Bad news, her Brother had passed away moments earlier.
We finished setting up our display and went back to the room where Lynn packed her stuff and readied for the trip to our farm to get our Church clothes and then she was off to Savannah.
I went to the fair grounds and watched it rain about 4 inches Monday, about 2 inches Tuesday and then I was up early Wednesday and joined the family in Savannah for her Brothers funeral service.
Lynn and I were back at the fair about 4:30 PM Wednesday afternoon and did our shows to a pretty large crowd. Lynn didn't feel like carving however and I guess that was a good thing since three out of the five chainsaws that we took along quit running. Thursday we took two of the saws into the shop and found out that the new oiler on the 018 that was installed 7 days earlier was not operating and the shop did not have one in stock. The 025 got the carb re-adjusted and ran for about five minutes before it quit again. Friday we had a lot of fun carving minitures and a few pumpkins and Saturday we carved a large Lizard on a rock pile and a few more minitures, a couple bears and wrapped up the show. Sunday we tore the display down and headed home to find our dogs very happy to see us.
I'm going to tell you, that Select Comfort mattress sure did sleep good last night.

To hear about Lynn's brother.
That had to be a tough one. My condolences.
I consider the two of you "family", so I am grieving too.
I lost a wife when she was 31, so I do know how it feels.
As far as the saws go, I'm hearing these horror stories about steels and have a few of my own about huskies.
Love to you both,
Joe Bolf
Sorry to hear about Lynns brother . I can't figure why your sthils took a break . My old sthils are tire and they still keep on plugging along . I hope you at least sold some carvings .
Many, many people know you and care about you,Lynn.Although we cant feel the depth of your loss and pain in your heart,we understand. That void in your life now, will heal in time. Maybe there is something personal of his you could put somewhere so you can see it often. When you look at it,think of all the good times and fun you had with your brother.I have my grandmothers picture hanging up by my computer.Take care Lynn and Wayne. Rick Woodward
Thanks to everbody that offered there kind words both here and in e-mail.
Lynn's brother was ill for many years and suffered greatly during the past few years and was in extreme pain the past couple months. He was one day short of being 43 years of age when he passed.
Bill was the type of guy when he was healthy that would warm any room with his whit and charm.
Lynn is doing real well with the loss knowing that her brother is in pain no more.
Thanks
wayne and lynn
