Here Lynn and Wayne make the post "Big Hearted Chainsaw Carver" and I didn't even respond. Didn't even get to see the pic. It expired.
Have to tell you though, I have been so busy the past three weeks, that I thought at times I was losing it. A week at Sam's Club, including all of the promo stuff, finishing carvings, emails etc. liked to make me crazy. And knowing that I was coming back to a hospital art installation and all that was involved with that. I did manage to raise $1,000.00 for Children's Miracle Network as well as another $1,000.00 for my own non-profit, Tapes For Tot's.
Anyway Wayne, didn't mean to blow you off. I left for Sam's 2 days before you posted it and have been playing catch up ever since.
Sam's Club went very well and I'm considering touring the country with them.
The hospital art project that I installed today was the culmination of 3 years work, as I could do it, due to the fact that I wasn't being paid.
Here's a pic of the display in the lobby. $25,000.00 worth.
I know that some carvers think that I'm a little crazy for giving away so much art and even putting myself in jeopardy with finances, but I have to tell you, I have a plan. If it works, many of us will benefit, as well as hospital patients all around the world.
If it doesn't work, at least I tried.
Got your phone message and email today.
Thank you for being so willing to pitch in and help.
Make sure that you post a pic of that carving that you and Lynn are donating the proceeds to for my little non-profit. We may not be so little if guys like you keep offering to help.
Sure am looking forward to doing a Sam's Club with you.
Just give me a little time and I'll set it up and come carve with you.
Your Friend,
Joe Bolf
