The carving camp is going to be March 27th to April 2 2005. It will be here at our home in Aiken, SC. There will be no charge for the camp, but there will be a donation jar in the kitchen where we eat. I also ask that you pull one day of KP (Kitchen Police) so my wife, who is a carver can also enjoy the camp. If you would like to bring things to contribute, much appreciated. Please let us know of any dietary specialty as Diabetic or other health reasons.
I will have a bunkhouse that will house 4 and 8 in the house , with showers in the house, there will be a porta/john out side.
You will need to bring your own bed roll, saws,gas,oil, and( most of all safety gear). If you don't have safety gear, the safety officer will not let you carve.
At night there will be a firepit we will all sit around and share ideas or just BS. There will be no illegal drugs and the consummation of alcohol, will be only after all saws are shut down and put up for the night. Intoxication that causes problems, will not be tolerated and will be ask to leave. We want a safe and fun time for all.
If you have a RV or Camper we will have elect hook up and some water, but no dump site. When they come to clean the porta/john, you could ask them to do your RV, at your expense.
We will have demos of safety, carving , sealing carvings, and on the weekend there will be a tractor show in the area and you can sell your carvings and carve there if you want.
Every day there will be a new challenge .
There are many motels in the area, some will give discounts.
