I was wondering if anybody knows how to change the sprocket on the husgavarny 336, I have the book but it doesn't show you. My stihl's look easy but they are completly differnt then the husg.

husky clutch

if it's the same as most husky's then this is my method. fit a piston stop (i use a long reach spark plug) then undo the clutch ( left hand thread) there is a proper clutch removal tool but i use a flat punch on the lip and a GENTLE tap with a hammer. once the clutch is off the sprocket comes off the crankshaft. if there is a plastic oil pump drive sprocket behind the sprocket drum, take care if you take that out as they are fragile and easy to ruin the thread. ( there is no need to take this off though) when refitting the new sprocket make sure it is aligned with this plastic cog, and if you change sprocket pitch you need to change the plastic cog as well. if you really struggle email me and i will look up the service manual. Ian
