This is a perched Eagle with the wings open and down, I wanted to get the wings out more but the wood wasnt there...
When you start a carving always look and see where the checks and cracks are in the wood so you carve them out...
I marked the checks or cracks so you can see what I had to carve around, I got rid of most of the cracks and the ones that were left were very small you cant see unless you were looking hard for them ...
This log also had a lot of PUNK in it "soft spots" and with a few plugs and wood filler, and after the burning they are hard to see also...
This was not a Quick Carve, I have a lot of time and work in this carving, but thats what you have to do to make it Right !!!
