a year ago almost to the day I return to 101 and see my original post only a few posts down on the same page!!! I told you folks I wouldnt be a waste of time in that post. So many of you have helped me since then. Either directly or indirectly. Thru books, forum discussion, new carving friends, step by steps, ectectect, I was able to shave off many many years of self teaching and now run a successful chainsaw art store. Although I have spent the entire time on the other forum (which someone emailed me and told me about after finding this forum)it was here that I found first. I make welcome bears, soaring eagles, mushrooms, jumping salmon,signs, lots more after only 1 year. Not boasting here just recognizing the fact that I couldnt have done it so quickly with out fellow carvers spring boarding me years beyond where i would be alone. Competed in 3 competitions and actually belonged at all 3 without feeling "outgunned". Thanks again if anyone reads this. I noticed the most recent post was months ago. I have a step by step that I will post fo what I beleive to be an original idea for a stone based welcome sign that I make out of my scraps. If I never get to it....see ya in a year.
