If you want to get an idea on how to conduct a campaign to support American Dreams, you might want to see what we Scapers are doing as regards our efforts to get Farscape back on the air for a fifth season--we're hitting network execs; sponsors; radio stations; we've put out ads in entertainment publications; we've even put out television commercials--we've even made it on CNN. Check out www.watchfarscape.com for ideas...maybe some of the stuff the Scapers are doing, we can do as well.
Now, no one's saying that we AD fans have to put out our own commercials or anything like that, but maybe we can do what the Scapers did as regards KFC with AD sponsors--Farscape fans saved and collected all their receipts from KFC and sent them en masse to the sponsor showing that not only do Scapers watch the commercials, they're also willing to put their money where their mouth is. Sponsors talk to network execs--they like it when people spend money on their stuff...and money talks.
I think NBC is very much behind the show. You can tell by all the press and promotion it gets. I don't know if someone should start a campaign just yet, but it never hurts to e-mail NBC and tell them how much you enjoy it.
Right now, just sending in nice supportive emails and, better yet, snail mails is the way to go. The show is getting lots of support and is getting decent numbers. Although it never hurts spreading the word to friends and all...
