hi everyone- looking forward to our Wednesday night episode- finally!!!
anyway- saw this small blurb in this week's TV Guide entitled "These Dreams Could Be Over"
"Now that NBC has moved American Dreams to Wednesdays opposite ABC's Lost, executive producer Jonathan Prince has reluctantly braced himself for possible cancellation. "If we are told before the end of the season airs that this is indeed going to be the final episode, we're prepared," he confides. " I have shot an "ending" that I hope never airs".
What a shame it would be. The only luck in all of this is that Lost will be running re-runs for at least a month that I am aware of. Maybe some folks looking for something else during that time will catch AD and get hooked and see the beauty and intelligence of this show.
I really wonder about drama on TV in general these days. It just seems easier for folks to produce and sell all the reality shows that we are seeing. If everyone continues to watch them then I guess that is all we are going to get. Comedy is in the same boat too. Anything decent will have to get picked up by cable- look at another AD- Arrested Development- it's headed off Network TV. |
