WB GIVES US HOPE

i just found this on one of the IMBD boards.

According to my aunt whose husband is one of the writers, the WB is showing interest to have American Dreams on 7pm on sundays to lead up to Charmed at 8pm. My aunt suggested to get a petition and send it to WB to get them to pick up the show.

some responses:

if it does get picked up on the wb they will have to run all seasons re-uns because i don't think it would do well if people haven't seen the other three seasons they should run marathons on the wb so people can get familiar with what the show is about but i doubt they will want to re-run 3 seasons over the summer. it's possible though.

That is GREAT!
7PM Sunday, huh?
Well, the GOOD news is Sunday is "AD"'s old home and 7:00PM has been a traditional family hour for a very long time. Competition: 60 minutes on CBS, NBC's Dateline, America's Dumbest Videos on ABC, and Fox's "King of the Hill".
CBS is the perennial winner in this slot, but I don't see two newsmagazines vying for the same audience as "Dreams". Also a big positive is that at 7PM, "AD" wouldn't have to compete against HBO's Sunday night lineup which takes a chunk out of the network numbers AND...UPN is dark at that time. "Dreams" WOULD have to battle "Videos" and "Hill" for the young adult demo, but the WB would not require monster numbers to keep it on air.
I LIKE it!!!!!

We should probably wait for the official announcement on Monday. My guess is the producers are still contractually bound to NBC until the actual cancellation takes place and can't go public with anything.
I'm sure the AD fan club will tell us the next move.
Thanks for the info!

This is SO GREAT!!!! I just emailed the WB saying that given a second chance, AD would survive and even thrive on the WB. The network has so many young viewers and the time slot is perfect. And I told them that all the show really needs is a little promotion- people can't watch a show they don't even know exists! Here's hoping they pick it up, that would be so fantastic!

and me? this could work.i love ad on sundays. but i could watch it any day as long as it's on. but this is good news! we have always been saying that it should be picked up by a network like the WB!

I don't care what channel AD is on as long as it is still on the air.

No way man...Fridays is the only open night for American Dreams. Regardless of what network the show would be aired on...That is depending on what the other competing networks have new in store for the upcoming fall season. However, I'm sticking with Friday nights because whatever the other networks come out with this fall, they couldn't be as major a competitor for American Dreams as the pair ABC airs that stopped it dead in its tracks which are Sunday night's Extreme Makeover and Wednsday's Lost!

but nothing is on 7pm on Sundays. AD would have absolutely no competition there.

Oh yes there is. Didn't you forget that Extreme Makeover airs on Sunday nights at 7:00 pm like Mr. Parker stated? And Walter, I'm in complete agreement with you my brother...Friday nights...Period! 'Cause as we AD viewers and fans all know, Sunday and Wednsday nights are dominated by ABC and CBS at the same time slot. (8:00/7:00 central)....Sundays; Extreme Makeover, Wednsdays; Lost-(ABC), and Wednsday night's Survivor-(CBS). Three prime time shows that outrates our American Dreams 20 to 1 in the Nielsens...I repeat..."FRIDAY NIGHTS!!"...Where our show would be safe!

The Nielsons dont really matter if the show is on the WB because it would not require as high of ratings it would only require about the amount of viewers that the show is already getting...maybe even a little less.!!

i found some more info on the whole WB thing. i just want to further clarify that i am getting this secondhand, this is not primary at all.

The WB has decided to totally concede one of their one hour prime time blocks. They are starting the fall, again, with an hour of "Reba" reruns on Sundays at 7:00PM. This just happens to be the very same time slot that poster "corkscrewfoley11" said the WB was considering for "Dreams"! This gives the WB the ability to easily pull these low-rated reruns at any time and replace them with a one hour show. I don't want to get anyone's hopes too high, but it appears to confirm that the aforementioned poster was being truthful.

whoo boy

Oh sorry Julie,I didn't see the part were you said you found this...bute here is my opinion(I posted this on IMDB.com)
I wish I could be more opmistic about this...but I find really hard to belive, because if the WB is really showing intrest for ''AD'' don't you think we would already know for sure(from MR Prince,or the fan club)?I mean it seems every single AD messageboard has someone who has an inside contact with somone from the show(cousins, aunt's husband,friends)...how do we know if those are true?
