I didn't like the book's ending. The savage lives like an animal and turns mad about it.
But perhaps that's the proove that a "normal born" human cannot stand the limitation of his individualsim and his freedom.
So, WE would not like to live in the BNW- (and if it were only because we love someone...)
The last chapter is really difficult and confused us much. This is not the end we expected.
Moreover, we think he is a little bit naive in his opinion. But he is not in our time, so we have another point of view, of course.
I think BNW is a good book. But if the ending was different it would be a great one.
When I finished the book I had the feeling that something was missing. I wanted to know what happened to Lenina in the end. I know that it is not important for the message of the book but for the reader it would be nice to know.
But as far as only the mesage is concerned it is a good ending because it shows in a quiet shocking way what this society can make out of humans and this is the message Aldous Huxley wants to express, I think.
So, for me BNW is a nice book that is fun to read!
Hey,
I really had to constrain myself to read on after the first pages of "Brave New World".
The first chapter was no fun to read. There were so many special-words about cloning etc. ....
In chapter 2 starts the real action. From there on I could not stop reading it. I finished it in nearly 3 days.
---BUT before, I needed 4 days to come over chapter 1.
The first chapter,in a way difficult to read to read

When I started to read "Brave New World" I needed some more time to get the meaning of the many special words in the first chapter. For example " Bokanovsky's Process" is one of these words-which finally means cloning. So it took more time to read this chapter, but the rest of the book was easy to read and interesting.
Hi,I agreed with you about the first chapter. When I started reading I also found many difficulty for the translation because were present a lot of word that I don't know. But when I over came they, reading is become simple.
We think that BNW is a difficult to read because the authour use very specific and demanding words.
(marilena says...):i don't like the lack of feeling,(i want to explain that i'm not a romantic girl)!!
(Fabrizio says...): I don't like the ending, because the story return to start situation and I want a different finish, I think that only one man with his mind can changes the world if he want, this don't happen in the book.
Hi! I think that the book BNW is very involving but in it's first part the reader isn't very much attracted because in the three introduction chapters, there are only long descriptions, while the story began after that. (The lesson is ending, I'll continue later)
For me reading the 1st page was...the worst thing i've ever done in my life... not really...but i had problems to ... i dunno...just had problems but actually the book is pretty easy to read, i think.
In this book I don't like the particular style of the wrriter.
Why ? Because Huxley uses too much the descriptions of environments. For this reasons the story isn't fast and when we read it isn't very fun. For example in another book, very similar to BNW, "1984" ( Orwell), there is much less description and the story is very interesting.
in our opinion what we did not like about the book is the totalitarian state conception, where all is sacrified in the name of the progress...but is this progress?.The people of this utopic society must give up all emotions, all sentiments, but above all the division in castes, that limits freedom...but is this progress?
I did not like to look up all the words in the first chapter...it was hard to get it!!
After the first chapter it is an interesting book and it was easy to keep on reading!!
In our oppinion the first three chapters were the worst of the whole book. So we agree with many others. There have been many specific vocabularies and you had to really concentrate to understand everything. But after those chapters the book became easier to understand. But sometimes we had the feeling that the topic was more in the foreground than the action. Sure Huxley wanted to give a message to the reader but in some parts of the book he concentrated so much on the message that the acton became very boring.
Well , as nearly everyone before mentioned , the first 3 chapters were very hard to read and a bit boring . The ending could have been better with more detail about Bernards and Lenina but in general I really liked it !
Hi, I read the 18th chapter a few times but I think it's awful! I don't like this ending, nobody knows what happens to Lenina or to Bernard!
What do think about it???
