What an absolute carbuncle of a turnout, or lack of it, both the Professor and I were given promises by upwards of 30 lads right up until the end of the week when the excuses started.
One of our finest older lads was very much right to pull out due to a bereavement but the other lads cannot have such an excuse, we were still coming on the friday night, I had made arrangements to liase with a mate in Aldershot and The Professor had sorted out all the travel arrangements, it was then that he did a final ring round.
One by one pathetic toe curling excuses were trudged out, I am ashamed to say that on this occasion I cannot defend the indefensible so I am here for once to agree with all that say we are a disgrace, I don't think there is any other way of putting it.
I am even more enraged due to the fact that I cut short a foreign holiday to fly back at expense and inconvenience, being a man of my word I had to be there, when I arrived back and discovered the extent of the meltdown in numbers I was horrified having made the effort myself.
All I can say is that my conscience is clear, as is that of The Professor, shame on the rest.....................

RB the turn out was a pityful dispay indeed, I myself had the reason not to go and was gutted, and to my surprise on saturday when i saw some of the lads in cambridge.

To be honest the CMF has been extremely quiet this season and for that reason I've not been about and so has a few others. All I can say is hold our hands up on this one, as noise has been made for some time about aldershot and therefore quite right in a lack of respect, lets justtry to make amends next season.

RB, i too hoped that the CMF would pull it together for Ashot, as you know, and would have been there given the chance. I am unaware of other people's opinions within the firm but it would appear that there are only a handful that really want to regain the rep of the old days.
Bottom line is that CMf would hammer most firms in the conference on their day, but theres such a lack of activity. Like you said, a no show is worse than gettin done! Have faith, next season you'll pull it together and shut up the doubters, just don't give up on your team or the firm! ttly DUFC
