Sometimes it's good to reminisce, do any of the older lads remember a sports shop in sussex st, cambridge? I spent a short time living in cambridge in the early 80's and was shopping in the above shop, as i was looking round i saw a large group of lads all wearing typical 80's casual gear looking at the hockey equipment. They ended up buying quite a few sticks, mouth guards with one lad even buying a goalkeepers face mask, i heard the manager asking the lads 'if they were starting up a new hockey club' to which one replied 'no it's Derby away on saturday' During my time living in Cambridge i spent quite a bit of time up at Newmarket rd and was always surprised at the amount of lads you pulled out for the big games, never expected it from a town like cambridge, Bristol City, West Ham and a game against Pboro where a little damage was done to one of their trains after the game, anyway like i said at the beginning, sometimes it's good to reminisce.

yeah it was a good shop hobsons, and it was 1987 the boro train got smashed up i got 6 months for it and like you say we may not have the numbers but its the quality not the quantity that counts and quality always shines though.

MY MISTAKE

Think i might have made a mistake with the street name, there was a sports shop called Hobsons on Sussex st but that's not the one i meant, there's a small street which leads from Kings St into town and the sports shop i meant, was along there, i think it was called Mcneils but don't remember the street name. CB5, long shot, if i was to ask you does a pair of speakers and a yellow Lacoste jumper mean anything ring any bells? if not, one of the lads on here will read this and know exactly what i'm talking about. Regards to that lad and good luck this season, still keep a look out for your results.
