This doesnt' suprise me because Kate hasn't done anything latley. Like Billie, she's a bit involved in her kids lives but not like she used to be. Kate hasn't had her own story in ages and she's on the back burner right now.

It's sad to see that another talented actress has been let go. As much as I didn't like Kate, there are many things she could have done.
