Sorry love but yesterday's show bugged me to no end. Yes, it was bittersweet for Pop Shawn but there were so many other things that bugged me that overall I give it a two thumbs down.
First of all everyone's attitude towards John was a truly 'WTF" moment for me. They all know he's been reprogrammed by Stefano which accounts for a big part of his attitude but even aside from that why should he be expected to fall at Colleen's feet and thank her for scaring the family by kidnapping his granddaughter and for letting the DiMeras torture the Bradys for years? Sorry, the 'I just found out I had family' crap doesn't cut it for me. Colleen didn't want to know. Seems to me that she was trying to make amends for what she didn't do so many years ago but its a case of 'too little, too late' for me.
Plus, if she wanted to protect the family why didn't she go after Stefano directly or try to get John away from him? Her compassion for what he's suffered for so many years seems to be far from her mind as she's more interested in promoting Santo's sainthood than helping her victimized son. Nice mother.
Speaking of St. Santo, that was more 'WTF' moments for me. The man lied to her and the fact he regularly cheated on his wife was well established. Is this just another case of rewritten histories that we are supposed to forget? I was with John when he showed disgust for being compared to Santo by his mother. Santo was a saint but Stefano, who was raised by Santo is evil????? Again, 'WTF'?
During most of yesterday's show the only one I found myself agreeing with was John. Yes Colleen was remarkable because she turned her life around and became a success but at the same time she let alot of others live in pain because of her decisions. She hid to protect Santo, well he's been dead a long time, so what took ya so long to come clean????
Maybe I'm alone in my feelings about the show but man it bugged the hell out of me.
Thoughts and comments are welcome.
