I agree they are not of this world yet they are. I have two therios. One is that while Alantis was doing dangerous experiments on humans and animals they put a human together with an animal from antoher world. How they got that animal, i don't know. so I don't think any worldly weapons will kill them. Maybe knock them out but not kill them.

i was in cumbria in england on a lake called bassenthwaite lake when i found a dead animal with 2 puncture holes in the chest it was a small deer i thout it was the chupacabra because england have no vampire bats about do u believe me

Good luck. The chupacabras have somewhat... hard skin. The reports of sightings where it has been shot, it has taken many shots before even getting unconcious.
Anyways.
Shotguns firepower can launch even a human to low air. A fast shotgun can at least keep it away from you for a moment. And if it gets too close, I'd prefer some large thing longer than arm. Like a reaper or something.
Not saying that I would be encouraging you to hunt chupachups, just gave my personal answer for your question :P I'm not the "n00b get a life" or "go f*** urself I dont care" -type. :)

well i have a theroy if its afraid of light then get sevral flood lights and hook 'em up to motion sensores with bait in z middle mabye it will be stund and then bring out the followin and blast AWAY!!!!
1.12 gage
2.sevral bucher knives
3.holy water
4.peper spray or mace
5.if none of the above work just take em all up close and personal.

If anything at least bring a stungun and a a small knife most likly a dragon scale pocket will work with that thing you could make him whale in pain and maybe u could get it on film for us all to see

I would definately bring a good, sturdy fire poker. It is the perfect weapon. It should be made of metal and pretty strong, the end has that spiky thing on it so you can jab with it, and the spiky thing adds weight to the end so you could just go around swinging madly as if you were being attacked by a swarm of angry bison.
