Friday night about 11:30pm I went to the front door to make sure it was locked. I glanced out the window and there was the strangest looking creature on my front porch eating the cat food. It is not unusual to see a racoon, possum or even coyote around at night but this animal literally made me gasp. My best description would be a cross between a deer and a hyena but with a very long tail that seemed to almost drag the ground. it had really big wide set erect ears. It was a grayish color and very thin. It appeared to be sort of hairless. I got my husband to come in and look. He thought it looked like a mutant coyote, but it was much taller than a coyote. It had very long legs. It looked like it should have been gravely ill, in fact I have seen dead animals that looked healthier. It looked like death, but it didn't act sick at all. It totally creeped us out. The next night we sat up half the night in the dark window hoping to get a photo of it but it didn't return. I googled "mutant coyote" and thats how I learned about the goat suckers. I emailed the Texas Wildlife with a description. I was wondering if there have been any sightings in the North Texas area.

i wish the wildlife commision would really investigate but they would rather make guess and blow it off. 7 were spotted in counties west of ft worth last winter.. and i know what i saw (more than once) but guess our officials dont much care. lazy is what they are
