- WWE Hall-of-Famer Jim Ross updated his blog & you can read the latest posting @ http://www.jrsbarbq.com
- Jeff Hardy didn't arrive to Tuesday's SmackDown/ECWWE taping in Las Vegas, a show he was scheduled to headline, until the card had already started. . . & so it begins again. . .
- An indy show in honour of WWE Hall of Famer Jerry "The King" Lawler's 35 years in the pro wrestling business, is scheduled to be held. The event's called "Celebrating 35 Years of Wrestling Royalty", a tribute to Lawler & is being presented by Bert Prentice on Friday, November 7th @ the Tennessee State Fairgrounds Sports Arena (former home of TNA) In the main event, Jerry will wrestle Gene Snitsky, who'll be managed by fellow WWE Hall of Famer Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart. For more information on the show, visit http://www.lawler35.com/
- It's been a while since some1 failed the test, but Dolph Ziggler, formerly known as Nicky from the Spirit Squad, is the latest Superstar to fail the Wellness Program & has been suspended for 30 days. This is his 1st strike. Ziggler's been on RAW for quite a few weeks now, introducing himself to other WWE Superstars in backstage segments throughout the show & hasn't made his TV debut with that character yet. I guess he'll have to wait more than a month for that to arrive now.
- Former RAW Heavyweight champion John Cena was the co-host of the Australian version of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, along with theatre & television star Nathalie Bassingthwaighte. Cena was nominated in 1 of the categories -- the Fave Sports Star -- & won the award after missing out on a similar award in the UK's event last month. After receiving his award, the Doctor of Thuganomics got the trademark green slime shower, his 2nd in 2 months, since he also got slimed @ the UK show! Y'know, it's nice that Nickelodeon's getting so much mileage out of that old "You Can't Do That On Television" gag from a Canadian kids show from the 1980s. . . ! Meanwhile, in the Boston area, WWE's advertising the Survivor Series on November 23rd as John Cena's 1st match back since neck surgery.
- ECWWE wrestler Elijah Burke posted a new blog on the WWE Universe site. Burke talks about OJ Simpson, Clay Aiken & Britney Spears. He believes the media's quick to bash a person, but slowful & negligent to speak on somebody when they turn themselves around. Burke also jokes about not being seen on television in recent months. You can check that out @ http://fans.wwe.com/elijahburke/blog/2008/10/14/the_elijah_experience_oct_14_2008
- In a funny deal, WWE 24/7 is running the 1992 WCW Halloween Havoc pay-per-view & during the broadcast, current WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross rips WWF, saying they're filled with bodybuilders who pose, but don't know how to wrestle. During his time in WCW, Ross would frequently take shots @ the World Wrestling Federation & their wrestlers on commentary. Mmmmm. . . irony!
- As reported on http://www.IGN.com September 26th, 9 WWE Superstars were on hand for the European SmackDown versus RAW 2009 Superstar Challenge in Madrid, Spain. Though originally scheduled to compete, RAW Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho pulled out of the tournament, claiming to be the best video gamer in the world & he was replaced by Diva Kelly Kelly. After several close matches, the finals saw Kofi Kingston facing off against Cryme Tyme’s Shad, with 1/2 of the Uncrowned RAW Tag Team champions pulling out the victory & being declared the European Challenge winner.
