“Michael were are we?” Nikita finally asked when they were left in a cavernous room inside the mountain.
On a golden chair near them sat magnificent silk tunics and jewels encrusted in gold. Michael approached her stroking his thumb across her eyebrow and then down her arm to come rest on her hand which he then brought to his mouth. His eyes vividly green, a shade Nikita recognized - he was alarmed but somehow acceptant of their sudden fate, whatever that was. Nikita anxious repeated her question as Michael commenced a monotone response instructing her as he undressed because of the silent plea of the servants milling around them.
“Michael, please what is this place, where are we?” Nikita begged allowing her husband to attend to her.
“I am not sure, I have been told by the guards that we are in Aphrodite’s Palace.” Michael advised her and sitting her in his lap he continued whispering, “In Greek Mythology, Aphrodite was the goddess of beauty and lust love. Homer spoke of her birth saying she was the daughter of Zeus and Dione, but then it was learned that she rose out of the white foam created when Cronus castrated his father Uranus and threw his genitals into the sea. Eventually she was carried across to Cyprus by the god of the west wind.” Michael explained in an even more monotone fashion.
Nikita interrupted, “Why are you telling me this?”
Michael answered as two pairs of sentinels moved into the room and stood silently guarding them. “Because this was Aphrodite’s home.”
Nikita went to laugh in disbelieve and looking at Michael’s expression decided to reign in her sarcastic laughter and follow her husband’s silent instructions. Michael continued, “This place I am told is right under Paphos one of Aphrodite followers’ sanctuaries and one of the many temples where she was venerated.”
Nikita whispered, “Aha, I remember reading that in the town of Corinth the prostitutes acted as her priestesses.” Michael nodded and raised a brow, while his wife, who always had the last word said. “We have either entered the Twilight Zone, or better yet the fourth installment of an Indiana Jones movie.”
-------
Nikita now wearing a white toga made of exquisite cloth embroidered with gold and silver threads that was held at the waist by gold cording and adorned with tiny gold coins depicting Egyptian symbols, looked at herself in the mirror. Her head was trimmed with aromatic tiny flowers that bathed her with the scent of hyacinth and the pearl and gold headband was a perfect match to the cuff bracelets she wore on each wrist and around her ankles. She was bejeweled and virginal and the transparent quality of the gauzy material made her seem ephemeral, goddess-like and straight out of the Iliad.
Michael wore a costume that made him appear as a member of Ali Baba's band of thieves and he watched her contemplate herself in the mirror with a modicum of amusement. They had been bathed in a river of flower petals and pampered with aromatic oil massages that soothed their knotted muscles and alleviated their exhaustion and tension. The dressers, masseuses and servants that groomed them had already departed after helping them with their garb. Michael sat at the edge of a bed that could best be described as the alcove in a brothel because of the satin bedclothes and the surprisingly modern sex toys strewn about. The room, although the couple was aware was under tons of dirt from the mountain above them, was perhaps the most serene, delicate and beautiful abode either one of them had seen before. There were luxurious couches, beds, dressers, lamps, object d’art and crystal and flowers. If they had not been aware that they were inside a cave the couple would have gone with the believe that they were in a mystical palace somewhere exotic and expensive and refined.
"What are you laughing at?" Michael asked Nikita as he moved to stand behind her, his perfectly muscular tanned chest contrasting against her white porcelain skin.
Nikita's blue eyes sparkled and danced with mirth as she gazed into Michael's equally expressive green ones and answered, "Here we are, we have yet to learn the exact place or the why and all I can think of is playing some fantastic sex game with my man." She turned and faced him, scraping softly her just manicured red fingernails against his taut chest and making his nipples hard with the promise.
He smiled and kissed her painted lips - tongue swirling as he dexterously moved one of her hands down to his hardness and whispered, "Later I promise, but first things first."
Nikita gave him a little squeeze that received a glorious grunt from her husband and nodded understanding, after all he was right, so she commented, "You are right, first we get answers to the questions - were are we and why are we here?"
"Both easy questions to answer I would say, you are in Cyprus and you are here to write our story, ne c'est pas?" A man clad in an ancient military dress answered; both Michael and Nikita individually thought he looked familiar. |

| RAAI - Chapter 47 - Rated: 18 and over | December 31 2003, 4:40 PM |
Nikita and Michael both turned to face a cripple male bent over his anvil that looked old and fragile, ugly and walking with the assistance of a walking stick. At times he appeared weak and spoke in thundering yet emasculate tones and although neither Michael nor Nikita had ever seen him before, they both instantly knew who he was as he introduced himself, “Yes, yes… I am Hephaestus, the god of fire, son of Zeus and Hera. You’ll see how much we have in common Nikita. Parents – aha, you have Paul and Roberta, I… well when my mother saw at my birth that I was lame and ugly she threw me from Mount Olympus to the sea and I fell for a whole day before landing in the waters. And my father Zeus did not even contribute his seed to my conception. But I digress, later the Romans knew me as Vulcan, also their god of fire.”
Nikita cleared her throat and spoke with great apprehension, “Yes I know who you are. You entrapped your mother in a magic throne you built, I remember you from my Greek history books.” Hephaestus smiled and Michael crossed his arms, with realization on her voice Nikita said as an after thought, “You received the beautiful Aphrodite as your bride.”
“Michael” the god spoke to the similarly dressed man, they both wore kilts that in Michael’s case, showcased his wonderfully muscular calves, “You stand there so smug, just because I split Zeus head with an axe, just like the legend said Michael… don’t be repulsed by me… no one is ever repulsed by you Michael, isn’t that right?”
“What do you want from us?” Michael asked, his strong arm going around his wife’s waist with care in a show of protection.
The god sat on the bed and pointed for Michael and Nikita to do the same in plush pillows that made the god look impressive and important in front of the lower seated pair. “You do not know this, how could you… but you’ve been here before, many times, it is time to stop the cycle and it is time for you particularly Michael, to right some wrongs.”
Michael, a man always in control went to speak but Nikita interrupted confused, “I don’t understand, we have never been here before… you are a nut who thinks you are a god…”
Before Nikita could continue with her mocking words Hephaestus rose, he pointed a long crooked finger to the chaise and it went up in flames. From the smoky debris a clear picture arose, like the screen in a movie theatre. The couple watched the image of a woman who looked extraordinarily like Nikita lying in a bed writhing in the pleasure her lover delivered. Laying between her legs lapping at the gold center of her existence the man partook of the woman’s pleasure, then looking up as a net thrown by Hephaestus covered them, he returned to his charge while the net held the lovers immobile and still in the throngs of their passion. The naked man was the war god Ares, who looked incredibly like Michael and Hephaestus, looking much the same as he did on the present day, dragged the lovers still wrapped in each other’s embrace to the Olympian gods. In the court Hephaestus told his story and showed the Olympian gods the naked lovers and asked for equitable retribution, instead the gods laughed and allowed the couple to go free and do as they may.
Michael and Nikita sat in silence watching the erotic images that somehow moved them.

| RAAI - CHAPTER 48 - Rated: 21 | January 4 2004, 1:02 AM |
The popular book ‘Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus’ rapidly came to Nikita’s mind as she inspected artist Martin Van Heemskerk 1536 painting by the same name, showing the gods Ares and Aphrodite caught in a net and brought to trial before the Olympian gods.
Michael and Nikita were in an enormous library, how they got there neither knew and they meandered around the room taking in great works of arts, first edition prints and wealth beyond measure. Nikita was mesmerized by the depiction in the painting and Michael pulled her away as he held a leather bound copy of Homer’s Odyssey and sat, embracing Nikita very close, to read the chapter about themselves.
Nikita’s eyes were riveted to the painting, the woman, in the throngs of passion was her… beautiful, reckless and out of obvious control; it was her face, her mouth, her eyes the color of the sky, her hair the color of the sun. The handsome man, powerful and perfect was none other than Michael Samuelle, her husband and lover apparently since forever. She recognized the look in the depicted gods eyes, the same one Michael wore when he was on the verge of climaxing, when he surrendered himself to Nikita’s fervor.
The green eyes turned smoky gray and the lips pursed and then bloomed in a single stroke of genius as he tumbled loudly to the pit of emotion, loosing control, loosing perspective, loosing all notion of time and place. This was the face that looked back at Nikita, this was her Michael and the Ares of the gods. There was no questioning it Michael was Ares; she had always known he was a god.
Michael read in original Greek and Nikita unquestionably understood how Ares was interested in the lovely married goddess Aphrodite and how finally their romantic rendezvous came to a dramatic and comic end when Helios the god of the sun, observed the beginning of the interlude between the two lovers. There was nothing that would escape Helios, he knew it all and ran tattling to Hephaistos about his wife and his brother and recounted verbatim what the two were doing.
Hephaistos was incensed and rightly so, he was a god filled with complexes and feelings of ineptness and his brother was ooohhh so much better than him, so he contrived a plan to catch the illicit lovers in the act. Nikita allowed Michael’s soft voice to lull her into a dream like state and she could see Helios who in her mind was the same as Madeline since nothing escaped that woman either, running to tattle with a sort of unending glee. The rest of the players, the usual suspects - Paul, Adrian, Walter, Birkoff, all gods in their own right, all fascinated with the young lovers’ story.
Michael continued reading Homer and Nikita’s senses filled with the emotions of being a participant in the overwhelming sex fest as she listened to his voice soft, deep, accented. Hephaistos (could this be Jurgen?) jealously waited and watched as his wife writhed with a passion he had never seen or been able to bring to her. When his wife and brother were in the most compromising of positions, when Michael’s mouth was fastened around one perky nipple and his fingers pumped furiously into Nikita’s wet center and his thumb pushed expertly against her pearl, Hephaistos sprung the net, trapping the lovers in a sultry embrace. Hephaistos wanted revenge and to humiliate the lovers, so his spell also contained a caveat where the lovers could not stop climaxing or stop the act; surely he didn’t think this a punishment.
Michael and Nikita, looking like two Olympian gods melted into each other’s embrace, as their lovemaking continued. Nikita was naked but for a scrap of cheesecloth that wrapped sultrily around her perfect body. The nest of blond curls glistened with a covering of ambrosia that Michael’s tongue indulged in, he was a hair’s breath away from burying his face in her and the anticipation made the goddess beg and cry with need. She could not move as the overwhelming sensation kept coming in waves and rendering her useless for much more than receiving and giving Michael ecstasy; Nikita/Aphrodite was Michael/Ares source of joy.
The married couple lay on the feather mattress inside the golden magical net; Michael smiled at his wife, they were no longer Michael and Nikita, they were Aphrodite and Ares. Ares was tall and handsome, bearded, good-looking vigorous, young man in the prime of his life. Some fierce Greeks thought of him as vain and cruel, a Spartan war god who they feared would bring them defeat at some point because they believed there are no winners in war. But the Romans disagreed in this opinion about their Mars who was heroic, decisive, determined, and fearless and in love with their Venus. He wore gleaming helmets and rode in winged chariots, he rushed into battle with his sword, unconcerned since battle was his prime interest; that and the goddess Aphrodite.
