1a, F, i (although the final category could be argued - I guess it's based solely on appearance, not amount?) Anyhow, I think those designations would be where my hair would fall. My hair tangles unbelievably, a trait common to fine hair. The products I use:

Nature's Gate Original Herbal Hair Shampoo (green) and Conditioner (murky brown), plus Giovanni's Leave-in Conditioner. Only occasionally do I use all three products, meaning only when I actually wash my entire head of hair, which is usually about once every other week. Usually I do scalp washes, so use only the shampoo. I do scalp washes about twice a week, including the periodic entire wash. I always air-dry.

I have a whole-house water conditioner, so do not do vinegar rinses. When my hair is dry, I often apply a bit of jojoba oil to just the length, applying it first to my palms, and then spreading it below my shoulder area, focusing most on the ends.

During the day, my hair is usually in an updo, either an Infinity Bun (like the Figure 8, but sideways), or my updo invention based on the French twist, and which I call my wrapped French twist. It is featured at TLHS on the Hair Care/Styles page in step-by-step photos. I wear my hair down only for special events. Sometimes a friend will braid my hair, which is fun.

At night, my hair usually is still up. At this length, braids cause more tangles for me, so if my hair is not in an updo, it's detangled and left loose to hang off the bedside onto a sheer curtain that is tucked under my bottom bedsheet, so my hair doesn't drag on the floor.

For tools, I use only combs, not brushes, which I find cause more tangles than they remove, as well as breakage. When making my updos, I use wooden hair sticks or leather/wood stick barrettes, depending on my updo. For braids, I use those fabric-wrapped, no-metal ponytail bands.

When wearing fluffy, chunky sweaters or wool coats, I always wear my hair up, as these also cause tangles. I even avoid button-down shirts with open collars, which tend to increase tangles at the nape, so I wear my hair up at those times, too.

I never sit on my hair, preferring to drape it under my left arm, then over my lap and onto my right thigh when seated.

That's about all I can think of right now! Good luck!

      Jennifer Eve
