Karen's Routine for 2Niii hair.......

*Karen's Routine (not Karen Marie)*
My hair is naturally very dry and fragile. So for me, using the Curly Girl method of Conditioner-only washing and care has really helped my hair over the past 6 months (based on the book, "Curly Girl" by Lorraine Massey). I currently CO-wash almost everyday, followed by a distilled water rinse. Sometimes I add about a tsp. of ACV to this rinse. I use a leave-in of 100% aloe vera gel and conditioner mixed.
Once every two weeks, I use a lemon-aid rinse on my hair (recipe from the Curly Girl book = parts of conditoner and strained lemon juice). I never blow dry or use heating devices on my hair, except maybe hot rollers once or twice a year for special occassions. I do deep treatments often with whatever is in my product junkie stack of stuff. I do not use 'cone products. They don't work well on my hair.I have a host of allergies, so I find that the more simple and natural products work best for my scalp.
My favorite products to CO-wash with is:
Suave Naturals Aloe Vera conditioner
I also like to CO wash with Lush Veganese or Lush Okra
Some of my other favorite products include:
Gary Null's Heavenly Hair Cleanser
Lush "God of Hair" souped up with jojoba oil
Fruit of the Earth 100% aloe vera gel mixed with
AO Sea Buckthorn and Egg as a leave in
Wiseways Herbals Rinses
jojoba oil
I could not live without my:
seamless comb and satin pillowcase, both ordered from tenderheaded.com, a great company which I highly recommend.
Ficcare Maximus clip and Scunci snag-free bands to keep all this hair out of my way
