Achieving body in straight hair!

No score for this post

For those who have straight hair,
you can have gorgeous waves and curls with ease!

I often wash my hair in the evenings and comb
it through. Combing, by the way, has never been so easy now that I've stopped using shampoo with
Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate and Ammonium Laureth Sulfate.

After it has air dried for a bit but is still cool to the touch, I braid my hair. One single braid results in body without too much foof. The smaller the braids, the tighter the wave. I like the single braid in that when I take it down, I can actually use a rake comb to sort of pick the tangles (if any) loose without killing the curls and waves.

When you reach the ends of your hair, use a sheet or two of the papers intended for perms. I even use a perm roller, though it took me some time to realize that using an indented roller made my ends too closely rolled. The roller which gives me the best curls on the ends are the solid size, not the type with the indented middles.

Phyto Systeme Vita-Botanics Leave-In Infusing Balm with Rosemary, Sage
By: Phyto Systeme

Sally Item #: 766200
A treatment and a light-weight styling cream with the renewing benefits of rosemary, sage & willow to condition and replenish the hair shaft.

Size: 5 fl oz

The life-giving extracts & essences of rosemary, sage & willow help create the rare look of perfect grooming. Rosemary stimulates the scalp for a healthy growing environment Light-weight leave-in conditioner that strengthens hair as it replenishes, rebuilds and revitalizes Adds control, body, texture Leaves hair shiny, healthy, and very easy to manage. Formulated to perform on all hair types.

Roll the ends of your hair up in the papers. I often use a tad of PhytoSysteme Leave-In Infusing Balm, available at Sally Beauty Supply.

The next morning, I take out my rollers and braids,
turn my head so that my hair is hanging down in front of my face, bending at the waist, and carefully pick out any tangles with a rake comb.

It looks soooo nice like this, and I've been doing this all week long. Of course, it's easier to comb through now that I am using different shampoo and conditioner products.

Currently, I am using PhytoSysteme Cornflower & Jojoba Shampoo and Biolage Conditioning Balm. This is a combination which makes my hair silky again!

Have fun, curly girls!
