My friend Aline Thuytien Bui, born on August 1st, 1983 at 1:35 PM is in a very bad situation right now.

She moved to New York in hopes of fulfilling her dream to become a working actor/comedian and has since decided to go back to college to study filmmaking since she has moved there. However...

The people she is living with are mentally abusive to her and keep her from her own money that she works two jobs to earn. She is 20 years old and not even able to audition because of them.

What do you feel is the right course of action for her to take in order to pursue a great college education and at the same time be in a much more positive environment?

Hi Heidi,
First things first! Aline has a combination of a false sense of loyalty to those whom don't deserve it & a fear of not being able to make it on her own.These people have feed both of these .
And they try very hard to keep her feeling like she owes them and needs them so that they can continue to use her.
The male knows what he is doing is wrong regardless of what he says.
By saying male...I sense a male being very overbearing around her.
Aline will need to enlist the help of a trusted friend to get out of the current situation.
Because it isn't going to get better.
And they will try to keep her broke without money so that she can't leave.
She will need to keep her plans about leaving secret ...otherwise they will find a way to prevent her departure.
I sense a roller coaster.Meaning things seem to get better for a little bit then get worse again .As it goes along the worse will get worser and the good will be farther and farther between.
It is better that they know she is gone only after she has already left.Even if this requires taking just a few personal things here and there secretly and leaving the rest behind.
She should not let fear hold her back from leaving.
It would be a good idea for her to start looking for a future room-mate and have everything set up in advance.
After she gets out of this in the near future she will have a chance to focus on her career again.
