Wow, we've been totally ripped off...

I've been playing UT2k some more. Last time I played it I just played about 2 levels of deathmatch and all of the action was so chaotic that I didn't really look around much. But today I set the bots to Zero and had a real look around, and man, UT2k is just full of U4E stuff!

For starters, anybody notice how the Machinegun with it's grenade launcher is almost a carbon copy of our M16 and it's fuctions? Even the grenades bounce! Then there's the Orbital Cannon, man that is just a direct rip off of the Cyber Knight! They even got skeletons in the game, although you only see them when you fall into the Lava. Still, something pretty much pioneered in U4E since our old Unreal days.

I hope we can at least get some offical acknologment over all of these ideas that were "borrowed". Man I am steamed. I'm unemployed and broke, and many of the new ideas they get at Epic seem to come from me. I would at least like a little recognition so I can get a real job. I can't stand being pennyless and living with my mother. She's a nice person to vistit, but lord do I need a place of my own! >;]

But anyways, I'm having second thoughts about U4E for UT2k. I can see us doing alot with it, even more the most people can imagine. But that's the problem, we're doing stuff that nobody else is imagining, and not getting any credit for it. They can employ 50 artists and a dozen programmers, but they still need bright ideas in order to make their game worth playing. A thousand monkeys with a thousand typerwriters will not eventually write Shakespear. And I'm getting a pretty clear picture where they are getting alot of these bright ideas from. >:P
