Although these ideas are not mine. I find them to most closely resemble what I think happened in this movie:
Matthew McConaughey strolls into the FBI office having stolen an ambulance with his dead brother's body in it. He tells Agent Doyle that he is Fenton Meeks (sp...Meaks?) and that his brother committed suicide and he wants to take the body out to the Rose Garden to bury it. He also tells Agent Doyle that Adam was the God's Hand killer (which is eventually revealed to be true). Of course, this is all just an elobarate scheme to lure Agent Doyle out to the Rose Garden where McConaughey plans to murder him because Doyle is really a demon, and one whose name has been sent to McConaughey by God.
- When they arrive at the Rose Garden, McConaughey reveals that he is in fact ADAM Meeks. This means that he is the one who has the power to see demons (as his father did), and that HE is really the God's Hand Killer. Adam killed his brother, Fenton, because Fenton was also a killer (but his killing was because of demon-influence rather than the instruction of God). Adam also plans to kill Doyle because Doyle is in fact also a demon. Adam then plants Doyle's ID at Fenton's place, framing Fenton for the murder of Doyle (Fenton has, in fact, committed many other murders...these are the bodies that are in the basement). Adam can get away with framing Fenton because Adam (posing as Fenton) only told Agent Doyle, deceased, that Adam had killed himself and was in the ambulance. Therefore, everyone else thought that Adam was still alive (which he is, he's McConaughey)...and since everyone else thought the guy in Doyle's office (McConaughey) was FENTON, he was able to get away with it. |
