I am wondering if it is OK to use dip pen ink in fountain pens. recently I ordered severals bottles of J. Herbin ink. The seller didn't have one of the colors I wanted and he substituted it with a very fine Italian dip-pen ink, which costs, by the way, three times more than a bottle of J. Herbin ink. I am tempted to use this ink, but I am not sure if it will cause any problems in the piston filling mechanism. Can you tell me if you have any expereinces with these kinds of ink? How safe is it to use it in standard fountain pens?
Thank you.
