First a couple of comment2. As I started to read the review I too had hoped it would not be a cartridge pen. I was just as happy as you to learn it's a piston filler. I can't quite describe it, but using cartridges just seems like a "sell-out" to me.
And I love the clip.

Can you tell us more about two stage telescoping pistons as compared to single stage pistons? Any examples? I can not picture the mechanism.
2.
Do you think that Breguet really makes these pens themselves? Or might they be manufactured elsewhere (perhaps brought back in-house for the guilloche work?) and branded? I of course hope the former. What about nibs specifically? It makes little difference to me in practice, but I am curious.
3.
May I ask what the MSRP is on these?
