Response to Jack, great review! A few questions ...

. . .I don't have a picture, unfortunately, of a telescoping piston but I'll try and find one. These were used in many vintage piston fillers; the piston rod is in two pieces which telescope inside one another, allowing the plunger to be drawn further up the barrel and increasing the ink capacity.

As to whether Breguet actually manufactures their pens in-house, the practice is often to outsource such projects to a high end manufacturer who produces the writing instruments to the specifications of the house ordering the product. I can't speak to the exact provenance of these pens but certainly, based on my personal experience the engine turning, general finish, and nib quality is more than satisfactory; the issue is really similar interestingly, to the whole manufacture/etablisseur debate in wristwatch collecting. I was happy enough with the feel of the pens- especially the fountain pen- to regard the question as of secondary importance (which is not to say it is without interest!)

I will try and find out MSRP but my guess is that it is as impressive as the pens .

Jack
