Response to Fountain pens were a part of my British private school education, Andrew . . .

imagine these days, but I actually won prizes for my handwriting at school! The prize: a Parker fountain pen (that I think I have somewhere). We must have been part of the last generation to go through school with ink wells as an integral part of the desk. My love affair with fountain pens started there and even now persists, even in meetings when everyone scribbles with their biro or roller ball... the anachronistic fool is sitting there with his pad of paper and fountain pen, perhaps a bottle of ink too. But then, why forget for the sake of expediency?

Looked at Sailor too and it was a close call. The simple lines on the Namiki, and the feel of the nib on the paper won the day.

Thanks again

Andrew H
