Many of us share a combined fondness for mechanical watches, and fountain pens. They seem to go hand in hand. But now I have stumbled into another odd "hobby", that seems very strangely linked to the first two. If you like writting with what my friends and colleagues call "calligraphy pens", and wearing a watch that you have to wind, and loses 1 min/day, can you really shave with an electric shaver, or a Mach 3? I thought so...then I stumbled onto a wet shaving forum. Literally hundreds of posts, and numerous daily threads on straight shavers, double edged safety razors, and the addictive qualities of expensive English sandlewood or lavender shave creams. I now find myself the owner of a Merkur double edged safety razor, a badger shaving brush, and a few tubs of Taylor Street and Trumpers English shaving cream. Are vintage safety razors next for me? straight razors???Anyone else drag a deadly sharp German blade across their faces in the morning for fun?
Oddly, there does seem to be a connection to my fondness for mechanical watches, and fountain pens.
I guess my Crackberry evens things out, so I am a complete throwback...
